So many locals and tourists here. Some local shows and many little H’ mong boys and girls showed their skills by dancing. Not so special but central location and fun place

Would personally not recommend Sa Pa at all. The town square is filled at night with very young children (from ages 1 and above) who are left by themselves to sell trinkets and dance for tourists, and it's very upsetting to see as they're often crying and left alone until midnight. It's also disturbing as the little girls are often picked up and held by men for pictures. It's also a complete tourist trap, much more expensive then anywhere else we visited (try to only go to places with prices on the menus as we were continually ripped off for food here). Avoid, there are other towns nearby which are just as beautiful if you're after hiking.

Set among spectacular vistas, the town of Sapa is a travesty. I suspect 20 years ago it was quaint. Now it’s one giant construction zone with tacky shops and massage parlors. It it had taken hundreds of years to develop tourism instead of 20, it could be quaint town with stunning scenery like an Alpine village. They’ve even ruined the beautiful Fansipan mountain, turning it in to a tacky Disney ish monster with cable cars and touristy trash. Come to SaPa just to get out in the beautiful countryside but there is literally no reason to visit the city.

Sa Pa Square is a place that attracts many tourists to visit. Because it has an extremely prime location in the center of Sa Pa town, right opposite the Stone Church. This place is always bustling and noisy day and night.

Boys playing soccer ⚽️ on the pitch. Strange place in the middle of city. It looks like whole and totally boring. Very practical as you do not need to take care about it. All stony

Our hotel is located opposite the square.
And you can expect to hear concerts, gigs and event happening during our 2 days visit!
It's a wonderful experience when you can witness people gathering around there on the afternoon for the event happening surrounding the area and enjoying themselves !

The Stone Church is nearby too!

Overall, cool place to people watch in the afternoon. 😊

The place is right in the town centre. Good to walk around in the morning n evening.
Get to see lots of people with the hill tribes people selling their wares.
Cool n nice to hang around. Plenty of food n cafes nearby.

This is the centre and heart of Sapa Town. On weekends, the town will hold some activities there for their people. Other days, it is just a big empty place.
Surrounding the square, there's a Stone Church, Sun Plaza and many hotels and restaurants. It's a very prominent meeting place and no one can miss it.
Perhaps in the future, the town can consider having some kind of night market stalls in the square to bring more activities for the town and tourists.
Currently there are a lot of constructions going on in Sapa Town and the road condition is very bad with all the heavy vehicles ploughing the road all the time.
I believe the place will be more exciting and fun in a few years time.
