We had such a great trip with Su. She is such an inspiring and intetesting woman, she told us so many things about her life and her culture. We had so much fun talking to her and such a good connection from the beginning. The trekking too was awesome, she made sure we felt comfortable and whenever it got slippery she helped us. So we can recommend 100%

We did a 3 day 2 night tour with overnight stays in authentic home stays. Su was amazing! She looked after us really well and gave us a great insight into life in tribal villages. She is very funny and tries really hard to make sure everyone has a great time. This trip is worth every penny and I can’t recommend it enough.

Su is the best! She took us way out there on Buffalo Trails where no one else goes. We did the 3 night/4 day tour and after lunch day 2 we saw no other tourists. Su took us bushwacking through trails that haven't been traversed since pre covid, through people's yards and along some sketchy rice paddies. It was perfect! Homestays were great and food was great too. Highly recommend Su.

My good friend and I did a 2 days trekking adventure with Su and wished I had planned for 3days 2 nights instead. On the first day, we started trekking at mid noon (we went Fansipan in the morning). We had an absolutely lovely weather and the airs clear which makes the view so breathtaking. We trekked for about 6km on narrow paths, mostly downhill and had the most amazing views on the surrounding landscape before reaching her humble family home around 5pm.
For the homestay, we had a bedroom with queen bed and a snuggly duny to keep warm. There's is hot water to shower comfortably despite the cold climats. Su and her sisters cooked us a simply but good spread local dinner upon us arriving their home. We were tasked to help a little here and there for dinner, like chopping ingredients, wrapping Vietnamese rice roll, fun! There were another German couple and all of us had sumptuous feast together. Managed to skip the 'happy water' after downing shot, thank goodness!
Next day, we did another 11km walking along different types of trails (I shouldn't share too much but leave the magical experience for you to explore) passing villages and Su explained about the local artwork, crafts, handmade clothes, their tribes inventions, plants and bamboo trails, waterfall.. and finally lunch. Our trekking adventure had to end there and we head back to her home for quick shower before she sends us back to Sapa town as I've already booked transport back to Sapa.
To sum it up, I have so much praise and satisfaction having Su as our trek guide. She speaks eloquent English (and replies well too on messenger and watsapp) and so so so friendly you feel at ease in asking her anything. Just like other TripAdvisor reviews here, we ended up being such bonded friends even in such a short time. Su and her family are really very caring and genuine being. The places that she took us too, were mostly quiet, unlike some reviews where there were locals hounding tourist to buy their handmade products. Su, her sister New and sister in law Shu speaks amazing English and I wish them all the best of luck. I forgot to add that my friend became nauseous after hiking on the first day , and Su arranged for her sister to pick my friend up on a motorcycle halfway our trekking journey to her home first and the family looked after her and boiled fresh ginger tea with honey for her. She was well enough the next day to continue her hike thank goodness so I'm really thankful for the family for taking such good care of us whilst we're in their home. Point to note, I do have to ask Su on and off for details like some areas, history, facts as some times she doesn't realise we need that much of information. So as I said earlier, feel free to ask her anything if you want to know more facts.
Make sure you have proper hiking shoe and bring along a hiking stick if you already have one. It helps :)
A tip to get from Hanoi-Sapa-Hanoi, I booked 7-seater van on Eco Sapa Limousine via verexe.com. Only cost me. And you get to pick your seating. USD40 both ways. After weighing over an 8hr night train and a 5hr car ride, I figured arriving a night earlier to Sapa and having a good sleep in a hotel would leave me well rested before trekking day. I've read plenty horror stories on the night train even though the novelty seems tempting. But I added both car trip plus a hotel stay in "The Amazing Hotel Sapa" still doesn't cost as much as a VIP (2bunk) train carriage.
I'm glad I did that and had the most memorable time in Sapa.

We've been trekking around the rice paddies with Su for one day and we had a great day! Sue is friendly, funny, patient, and speaks good English. She will answer all of your questions and tells a lot herself.
We've contacted her via WhatsApp and booked her for a private day, so the trekking could be fully adapted to our wishes and fitness level. It was not cheap, but since she is working independently we are sure that the money is well spent by Su and her family.

I made lots of enquires as to a suitable trip to Sapa as we were travelling with our 2yo daughter. Serious Trekking was obvious out if the question, su suggested a 2 day guided trip where we took a car between the main places of interest she arranged everything from a private sleeper train to the tour, cars and lunch.
Day 1 we were collected by su from the station. We headed to our hotel for a quick freshen up and then su came to get us to transport us to a village of the ethic minorities. The ‘ umbrella ladies” walked with us a d our young daughter throughout the village where we observed rice farming, flour milking and clothes preparation. Including cloth dying. Su with her familiarity and physical strength carried our child ( around 18kg) on her back for much of the journey.
Our second day we opted to visit the waterfall ( stunning) again su helped carry our daughter much if the way. Then to a fish farm, and festival like experience at the cable car station where we witnessed a traditional tribal wedding with Dancing and religious traditions.
The places su selected for lunches were wonderful - both ranking highly on trip advisor, clean family run establishments with suitable bathroom facilities. We liked one of the places so much we returned for dinner that night.
Su was so wonderful in every way that when we found out she had her next tour too pick up in Hanoi we invited her to share our sleeper cabin back - she was so trustworthy and family friendly we even FaceTimed with her husband and daughter.
She purchased our daughter some Milo milk for the train trip home - this is now called su milk.
Couldn’t recommend this wonderful guide highly enough -

We had an unforgettable experience trekking with Su. I had made a last minute booking with her and she was happy to accommodate us. We thoroughly enjoyed the conversation, the trek as well as the delicious lunch which was had at the village. The trek gets slightly challenging at some parts but Su was there ready to help us along. We enjoyed this experience so much and it was a highlight of our trip to Vietnam! Will definitely recommend her company for all your trekking needs!

We booked a six hour drive through the villages northeast of Bac Ha yesterday and Su was our guide. She is a member of the indigenous Black H’mong people and came wearing their traditional clothing.
Su is very knowledgeable about life in the countryside as she is of a farming family herself. She English is good and she happily answered all our questions. She is very sweet, very personable and we recommend her wholeheartedly!!!

We went to sa pa for the first time in December 2018 having done plenty of homework beforehand but still left with lots of questions and more options than our schedule would allow. Su and her sister were a HUGE help in the planning and decision making process in the weeks leading up to our adventure. Their communication and response times were always same day and often nearly immediate.
Su helped us coordinate a experienced guide to climb fansipan mountain, she brought us on amazing trekking tours in the fields and mountains throughout the valley, and her entire family was more than welcoming and friendly during our homestay.
I dont have enough good things to say about her and the service she provides - at an affordable rate. You will have many options for local trekking guides and homestay in Sa Pa. If you want the best use Su. I'm available for more detailed reference or additional questions via email. Please feel free to send a message.
Thanks Su and thanks to your whole family also. Those memories will last us a lifetime!

P.s. if you have any plans the following day, whatever you do, dont engage in a "happy water" drinking contest with her dad 😏
