We did a 1 day tour. His english is good which made that we had a lot of conversations about our culture differences and fun talks through the hike. If you have questions about sa pa he is your guy and I don’t want to forget the laughters that we had. He shows great spots around sa pa and takes photos of you. He show the local village and handcrafted stuff that the people make. The hike comes with a lunch in a local Village that ended with happy water (rice wine) which created a nice vibe trough the hike. At the end of the hike there is a cab that brings you back to your hotel but we ended in a local coffee bar where we had coffee and he showed us some local beers to taste. So if you search for a friendly social guy, I would definitely recommend him for a hike and if you have the time in sapa I would suggest that you take a 2 day hike for the full experience and see the summit with him.

I did two separate treks with Khai: the 1-day Lao Chai Hmong trek and the 1-day Mt Fansipan trek. It has been nothing but an amazing experience for me. Unlike most other Sapa tour companies, Khai both runs the tour company and acts as the guide, which means he is able to provide the best experience for you. Communication with him was smooth and easy right from the beginning when arranging the treks. For the Lao Chai Hmong trek, we were off the beaten path most of the time with hardly any other tourists. Khai even welcomed me into his (still under construction) house in his village which was a nice touch! For the Fansipan trek, Khai was a very experienced guide who knew how to set the pace well. It was a moderately difficult hike which we summited just over 5 hours before deciding to take a cable car downhill to spare our legs. Overall, I would highly recommend Sapa Khai Hmong treks and Khai if you decide to go on a trekking adventure in Sapa!

Hiking to the top of Mt. Fansipan with Khai as my guide was an unforgettable experience. I’m so glad I found his tour! Not only was Khai a thoughtful and wonderful guide, but he also shared experiences and stories along the way to help us keep going and keep our spirits up. It was going to be a private tour, but we ended up running into another guide and couple on the trail, so we joined groups and that made the whole experience even more fun. Khai did a wonderful job at setting the pace, and he shared his knowledge of the local culture as we trekked along. He was so mindful of how everyone was doing, and with his guidance, we were able to get to the top of the mountain in only 5 hours. It was such a special and unforgettable experience. The banh mi that Khai made for us was delicious and the perfect hiking meal. At the end of the experience, the guides had completion medals and certificates prepared for us that they’d retrieved from the ranger’s office. Not only is it illegal and risky (you could pay up to 500,000,000 dong) to hike without a guide, it’s a huge pity. It was so special and meaningful to me to hike to the top of such a magnificent mountain with a local guide with special knowledge and a connection to the land. Please don’t hike Mt. Fansipan without a guide. Hiring a guide is not only a wonderful experience, but it also helps support the local people and their beautiful culture. Plus, you might be like us and watch as the park rangers chase down and escort unauthorized hikers off the trail. Just know that if you hire Khai, you’re in excellent hands. He has hiked Mt. Fansipan more than 100 times…in his words, more times than he can count. If you hike with Khai, you don’t need to worry about safety, you will have an enjoyable time, and you will make new friends. I’ll always remember the amazing time I had on this hike. I saw the most beautiful views of my life, and it was just an incredible time!

I did a one day hike to fansipan summit. It was a very tiring hike as it was raining that day and was very dangerous, but Khai was very patient and ensured that I was hydrated and well rested enough to continue the hike. I highly recommend him if anyone wants a guide in sapa as he will try his best to make sure his guests have the best experience :)

We did a 1 day hike up and down Fansipan as the cable car was down during this period. Khai's brother was our guide and a big thank you to him for taking care and looking out for us as 1st time hikers. Will definitely recommend this tour but perhaps a 2D1N tour will be better to better immerse in the local experience.

We did a 1 day hike to the top of Fansipan. The hike was amazing. While the path is well marked, using Sapa Khai Hmong trekking services made it better and easier. Communication and logistics were perfect. Would strongly recommend although be mindful that this is not an easy hike. We did it with 4 adults and 4 kids (11-13) in a total time of 7 hours, lunch and plenty of rest breaks included. The cable car ride back is amazing and breathtaking and was included in our package

Signed up for a 1 day solo hike up mt fansipan and was pretty apprehensive initially, but Khai was very reassuring and adjusted his pace accordingly. He was very helpful with all my questions and also shared about his life in Vietnam. Would highly recommend for anyone who is looking for an experienced and solid guide - not to mention the wonderful lunch and pictures he helped to take at the Summit. Thanks again Khai!

We did the 2D1N trek up Fansipan. Khai was friendly and cheerful throughout the journey. He was also encouraging. He gathered the group for dinner after the hike and was able to share about local life. He even arranged for a birthday cake for a hiker on our group. Overall, a great guide to be with in your short stay in Sapa! (Ps: Khai is a great cook too!)
