Went here with my mom, took pictures with my samsung s8. Prayed to the residing temple god and got pick pocketed at this place... Lost my phone and all important info on it. B sure if you come have zippered pockets or something stuff wedge in there to make it more difficult to steal stuff.

This is a big pagoda with many entrances. There are a lot of security people around. No photos allowed inside, more than half of the main building was empty.

A must visit in Chau Doc is Ba Chua Xu Temple - Spirit of the land. The powerful lady helped local people to come over the difficult periods.

We were on a 3 day Mekong delta tour and stopped here on the way to Sam Mountain. The street outside was a typical Asian “temple street” with many colourful shops selling items to be used as offerings as well as pilgrim souvenirs. Inside there were lots of offerings to the Goddess including 3 roasted pigs. Ive read that these can be rented and are reused. I wonder if they eventually get eaten? I took a photo of the main goddess statue and a security guard, of which there are many, pulled me by the arm and showed me a sign saying no photos of the statue. He didn’t ask me too delete the photo though and its attached to this review. Also very interesting was the hall upstairs across the courtyard where there are thousands of ex-votos or gifts given to the temple after a petitioners requests have been granted by the goddess.
