been here twice,the second time was two weeks ago when i stayed in Canggu.it close to canggu beach,so i walked to canggu beach first,then i turned to right hand side and walked to echo beach.batu mejan means big rock,there are some big rock on the beach,the sunset very beautiful here,just like many years ago.i took some pics of it,but the sky already dim,hard to take clear pics.

Came at sunday about 12.20pm, not crowded, this beach near la brisa. I think this beach clean and no sound polution. But if you want to order ojek online, you should walk a bit far.

Great scooter ride through some rice fields to Echo Beach. Using the local route is much faster and scenic. Take first left after splash in Canggu. Great to watch the surfing and enjoy drinks and seafood on the beach.

When you hear about a world famous beach... you expect the best! In fact because of this beach is why we decided to come to Bali.
IT IS DISGUSTING! I mean it is filthy! Discarded food, plastic, rubbish of every sort is all over the beach.
There are piles and piles of rubbish which don’t seem to be organised in any way.
Burnt out fires that have clearly been started the night before.
I imagine it’s a great beach if youre 18-20 and want to experience hippy surfing kind of environment, but certainly not for experienced travellers wanting a nice clean beach!
You certainly couldn’t spend the day here sunbathing through fear of what would end up next to you.
Absolutely worst disgusting beach I have ever seen in the world.

This is more of a rubbish tip than a beach. We were shocked to see the amount of plastic bottles and general rubbish littering the beach. There were used syringes everywhere (no needles though).
Its a well used surfers area and waves looked good but you wouldn't be wanting to sit on the beach unless you moved quantities of rubbish from where you wanted to sit.
This must have been a great spot once but it was disgraceful when we visited. We walked down on the beach and after walking 100 metres through rubbish decided to leave. It's such a shame as it doesnt live up to its name (eco beach).

this place is a surfer's paradise, with huge waves that keep coming, and a nice cool weather with some sun. beach has interesting black sand, and is littered quite a bit due to tourism. could also eat at the cafes there and try some good local food like mi goreng!

I will admit that I am a bit spoiled when it comes to beaches. I am from a town with gorgeous beaches, but I have also traveled to places like Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Cambodia, Australia lots of different types of places with beaches. I have never been more grossed out or just genuinely depressed as I was when I saw these beaches. It actually upset me to see just how much garbage was everywhere. In the water, on the sand, jammed in the break. EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK. Disheartening and disgusting.

Initially I wasn't thrilled by Echo Beach - I'm used to the soft white sand and beach breaks of Australia that I'm used too, while here it's a dark volcanic sand I initially though of as dirty.
However, I fell in love with the dark sands, warm waters, and consistent surf.
Loved it, stayed near here for 2 months and spent a lot of time here.

High waves, lots of surfers, some tourist oriented warungs and a large beach club that might become busy twice a week. Dont expect white sand but something in between. Its the least busy beach compared to Changgu beach; (which in the end we loved more due to lesser waves, bussier bars nearby, cheaper food and drinks and different vibe).

Actually I never had any issues leaving my stuff at the beach. Cannot confirm at all above statement of local ppl stealing. On the contrary, I experienced them to be super helpful and kind. Nonetheless if you find any trustworthy ppl u can always ask them to look over your stuff
