Mount Batur to Ubud Off Road

This bike ride is our off road version of the popular Mount Batur to Ubud ride. Our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and drive you up to Mount Batur where you will enjoy the spectacular views overlooking the volcano. Expect one of Bali’s most amazing views.

From here the adventure begins. We will ride off road on an amazing mix of terrain all the way to down to Ubud. You will experience bamboo forest, single track though the rice paddy fields, nice fast flowing downhill dirt tracks, jeep tracks, farm trails and broken tarmac roads and small paved lanes and back roads through the local villages. This day ride is just right, not too hard and not too easy :)

Batu Crater to Ubud

This is the longest 1 day ride that we have. An early transfer will bring us to Mount Batur, our playground for the morning. We will ride around on the rim of the caldera of the volcano on a wide mixture of terrain with amazing views of Mount Batur, Lake Batur and Mount Abang. You may expect some of Bali's best single track riding with views of the ocean on one side and the volcano on the other! Please be aware of the tall grass and the tight single track through the woods. After a steep decent on a broken up tarmac road we end up inside the caldera where we ride towards the lake. We will end up mountain biking through the lava stream where the latest eruption happened, a truly amazing experience. This is where the first 25km of the ride finishes.

Review of: 4 Days Getaway
Day 01 | Sanur : warm-up ride from Denpasar to Serangan Day 02 | Batu Karu | Canggu to Jatiluwih Day 03 | Amazing Mountain Biking through the Tabanan Province Day 04 | Mount Abang to Amed DAY 05 | Morning Ride around the Batur Crater We were fortunate to have two very friendly, super efficient, hardcore bike guides during the entire tour and that was none other than Rudy and Sui. The entire crew was great and attention to detail was unspeakable. Of course, the support vehicles were always there, when needed, and two technically competent drivers. We rode through charming local villages, lots of rice paddy fields, and Mount Batur (where the last eruption happened) surrounded by volcanoes and lakes. There were lots of rolling hills but at an easy gradient. We stayed in different accommodations each night and it was remote local hotels with spectacular surroundings. Tour ended in Kuta beach. It was more adventure than one can ask for.....

Got on to the Mt Batur ride as a solo rider joining 4 other people. The whole thing was super smooth from booking to pickup, getting started the ride and heading home. The ride started in a car park and very quickly went off road down some very narrow trails through a lot of greenery! The ride took us through some wonderful scenery including small villages and rice fields, before ending in Ubud with a ride up towards the monkey forest (the bit I liked least...traffic and uphill! :D ). Before ending there is anice little run down a dcent hill before the path continues down some rideable steps (you don't have to ride them...you can walk). The equipment was great, bike nicely setup and ready to ride (went full-suss and the dropper post was handy at the steps!). Staff we great, super friendly and helpful. Would definitley recommend riding with these guys. Hope I get back to Bali again...would love to ride more of this fantastic place.

Everything about this just worked on the day. We got picked up from our villa in Seminyak right on time and the drive to the start point was an easy 2hrs. We had 3 in our party and we joined another 2. Our group was a mix of experienced and novice riders. This route is an intermediate course. It had some tight and tricky sections as well as some long open downhill roads. It was the perfect balance for us. There are some spectacular views and majestic countryside - forests, cornfields, elephant grass, paddy fields, single track dirt tracks and sealed pathways, The bikes were excellent, new and well configured for our requirements. Our guide was also excellent (Artha) and got a good balance of progress and patience, always giving us clear direction and making sure we were all ok. This is not a sight seeing tour - its an MTB ride - so don't expect a tour commentary or an audio guide! That said, Artha has plenty of knowledge to share about local temples etc on the occasional stop. At the stops, the refreshments were delicious local snacks and ice cold drinks and the support crew were great at taking your bike and making sure you were comfortable. Lunch was really nice in a local eatery half way down a hill - where you can also pay a little extra for a Bintang if you want one! I would say the vast majority of the route is practically traffic free - or on roads to link sections that were small local lanes. The final stage down in to Ubud has some paths with steps to ride down (great fun) and a couple of busier roads but riding up past monkeys on the edge of monkey forest is not something you do every day! Overall we had a great day experts and novices alike. If you have some experience on a MTB its worth doing this route, with this company. I would highly recommend it, and we will be aback, perhaps mountain to beach next time.

The best way to see Bali. Where else can you test your skills through a dense jungle full of roots and drops, loose yourself in secret single tracks through bamboo hillsides, villages and rice paddies . Immaculate Polygon bikes provided with helmets and spd shoes if required. Experienced guide who goes above and beyond to give you the best experience possible.

This is easily the best thing we’ve done in Bali. There is possibly no better way to explore authentic Bali than riding through its back streets, its farms, its villages. We were worried we might not last the distance, not being experienced cyclists, but the trip is well planned in terms of regular stops and the support is amazing. On that note, a big shout out to our guide Eka! He absolutely made the day for us and was such great company. There were a few very steep hills that we simply had to walk up and Eka didn’t bat an eye. Lunch in the middle of the day was at the small shop of a local family - Infinity apparently work hard to support the local economy - and it was delicious. Our driver Putu was so careful and accommodating - all part of the package. We are so grateful for an amazing experience and will recommend this to everyone!
