The beach was neat and clean. But we visited there when Covid protocol was in place. We loved the place and we will definitely get back again during better times

Very crowded but pretty beach, just north of Lighthouse Beach. There are shops with inexpensive clothing and trinkets...lots of haggling. A bit rundown. I wouldn't feel safe roaming around here at night, alone.

We stayed in Kovalam for 3 days. Easy walk from Turtle resort to the beach. It’s a nice local beach, except for Christmas Day it’s not that crowded. Rental of beds and surf boards on the beach

It was an impromptu trip to Kovalam. It was always on our to do list but whenever we planned we landed up in Goa I guess a known destination to an unknown. From the day we landed we fell in love with this city, it was magic it was as if we had been there before. People were friendly from an auto driver to a bystander always ready to help. We were staying at the Taj property which is another story to write about simply incredible. So we met this auto driver who said let me take you to the Kovalam beach and light house after dropping us he said when you want to go back call me and I will come.We offered to pay the auto driver he said i will take it on my return it was a simple act of trust that got us hooked to him for the next 3 days we were there. Once on the beach my daughter being a bold girl walked ahead exploring what we could do before nightfall. Next before we knew she had talked to a boat guy and we were on it and off for a boat ride along the coast. With the setting sun on one side and the beach on the other it was worth every rupee we spent the glittering sands and the waves made this ride along the quaint coast so magical. Once we were off we sat on the beach for some time watching the sun going down. After a while we got up and started walking along the beach where in the night all the tiny shops some selling jewelry some tours and the majority restaurants came to life, as we walked along each restaurant there were people outside the shop trying to tempt us to their restaurants with exotic catches of the day, you name it from crabs to lobsters of various sizes. Fish from pomfret to sear fish they all on display. After a short walk we settlef into a restaurant for a cold bee0r and some lovely food. We walked back to our point called the auto guy who was there in a jiffy and left with some memories that we would remember for a long long time. Must add the auto driver in his broken English asked us about our experience and said he would be waiting for us the next day and that is another story...........…
