Great historical piece. Fell in love with the Chinese and how they have preserved their history. Very tiring climbing. If you thinking of climbing consider the feeling after climbing. Body pains all over.

To climb the great wall and feel and see the history of a man made wonder of the world was amazing. Part of the wall I climbed was built between 206 - 220 b.c by the first Emperor of China. You can walk for miles...More

This was our second visit to the Great Wall (the first at Jinshanling ten years ago) and I thought it would be the same level of exertion. However, I was surprised how puffed I was even though I'm fit. Even when there aren't steps, the...More

We visited this part of the wall with friends and family. Compared to the parts of the wall in Beijing this part is empty. The wall itself looks quite similar (my point of view). From Tianjin it was a short 2h trip.

The great wall lives up to all the hype. The ramparts closer to Tianjin is totally worth visiting due to it's exclusiveness (most of the tourists visit the wall closer to BJ) and the surroundings. It's a testimony to how human endurance can triumph against...More

Our day spent at the Great Wall was absolutely brilliant! It was everything we imagined and more. There are two directions you can choose to hike in, and I believe these actually form a loop for a larger 7-8km hike. We were amazed at the...More

People tell me about Great Wall at Mutianyu and Badaling, well I've never been there because from all descriptions it's just so busy. At Huangyaguan it's different, very few people and fantastic scenery. I've been there now maybe 5 times, always the same section of...More

Your best option is to visit that part of the wall, and not any other because of time restrictions and other reason as well. Once you off the cruise ship hire one taxi outside there will be many, make sure to have their... More
