We arrived about 10 minutes early and Boo was quick to let us know, he was a little stand offish to start with. Just asked to see our fishing license & didn’t introduce himself until roughly 15 minutes in. He did warm up to us as the day went on. He took us out about an hour and half to get us on fish. We moved around from place to place and did fill out on halibut. He tried to get us on cod and we caught a few but not as many as he thought we would. The weather that day was extremely windy and rough so I can only assume that had something to do with us not catching a lot of cod. We had four in our group and two others joined us. Six people in his boat is too many as we spent a fare amount of time untangling lines which cuts into your fishing time. In fact one of our group decided not to fish at times because of that. So I would suggest asking him how many are going if you book with him. When we arrived back at the harbor we sat around as the deckhand cleaned the fish, then he stopped to get gas, then we had paperwork to do which could have been done when the fish where being cleaned (just a lot of time sitting around). We went out a day later with another charter only went out about half hour and filled out on halibut no problem and he was about $120.00 per person cheaper. Just saying. Overall I’d rate trip a 5 out of 10

Tall tale charters was awesome! Sent my father in-law from AZ and we had a great time.

The boat they have is quite large , aluminum and handled the seas well. Boat is based out of Homer so don’t be thrown off by the location. (They have a berth over east side of the marina by harbor master / ramp so it makes parking easy in the morning)

Captain Boo and Deckhand Jordan were great. Jordan was super patient and made the whole experience fun.

Caught some monsters!
