Because of high reviews on this site, I booked the Cook Inlet bear viewing flight. While it is true that Tim is a great guy and excellent pilot, the information stated that the trip would be 2 - 3 hours. As soon as we took off, the office communicated that Tim had nothing else scheduled so could stay out as long as he wanted. He immediately responded that we would be back in two hours. Two bears were spotted, and we landed on the beach. There were several people from other tours already there. We were the last to arrive and the first to leave after about 15 minutes of viewing! Very disappointing as this is an expensive trip at $434 (with tax). Compare Talon Air at the same price for 6 hours!

I thank you for taking the time to review. I spoke to your husband on Friday because he was concerned you had been shorted on your tour due to the fact a client on your flight had an afternoon fishing trip. I promise you that was not the case-- he had 4.5 hours before he would be late for his fishing trip. I'm not sure if it's the headphones or what but he never told me he would be back in 2 hours-- he may have said he would be back by 2pm. We do have tracking on the plane (as you saw the screen before and after the flight). These are the times recorded by spidertracks (available to look up by anyone at spidertracks.com) for your flight on September 11, 2019. Remember you all loaded and left early (the plane hit the 40mph speed up at 10:43am. You arrived at the bears at 11:23. at 12:14 the plane departed SSCR to continue the tour after seeing a mom with 3 cubs fishing and playing in the creek. Arrival back to Soldotna was 1:14pm. Total time was 2.5 hours with 50 minutes on the ground (not 15 as you stated). The other guests watching the bears were lodge guests staying at Silver Salmon Creek Lodge for up to a week. They were not on a tour. We work very closely with Talon Air and they are not the same price at this time of year ($524.70 for Crescent Lake). You may or may not have seen bears with them and you would not have seen Mt Iliamna or Mt Redoubt or any of the extended tour however yes, you would have been on the lake longer. We performed the tour exactly as I described it when calling to schedule. I'm sorry you weren't satisfied with it-- the other 4 guests appeared to be very happy. I hope your trip to Alaska was great and hope your next adventure is everything you hope for.

From beginning to end, this was a great experience. We booked the bear viewing tour in the Wigeon, but unfortunately, weather conditions forced them to cancel our flight. Luckily, Janet was able to accommodate us and squeeze us into a tour on the second plane option the next morning. Our pilot, Tim, was very friendly, although the tour didn't feel quite as personal as some of the other small group trips we took in Alaska. The flight, though taking off into foggy/smoky morning skies, still provided a beautiful view of the top of Mount Redoubt and a glimpse of Mount Iliamna. When we reached Lake Clark National Park, everyone in the plane (7 of us plus Tim) got to share in the task of looking below to spot bears and determine where to land. We were unbelievably lucky and got to see a momma bear with 3 cubs in tow. After a very smooth beach landing, Tim led us to the bears for some very up-close photography and observation (and I mean home-plate-to-first-base close). We then did some additional fly-over views of the park and the nearby Cook Inlet. This experience will truly leave you with a sense of just how remote and beautiful the Lake Clark area is (though the smell of sulfur from the volcanic region is fairly strong).

I booked Natron Air to take my dad, uncle and I on a fly out trip to view bears. We flew on Tim's Widgeon specifically because my dad and uncle are Army/Navy vets. I thought it would be cool for them to fly in a WW2 plane. Tim and his wife Janet were awesome! We thoroughly enjoyed the flight on the plane and all the information that Tim shared. Even if you don't see bears - this trip will be well-worth your money. We were lucky enough, though, that we saw bears, moose, and several unique birds. The landing of the plane in Crescent lake was a highlight of the trip - totally cool! Highly recommend Tim at Natron Air. Super friendly, stand up guy. I felt very safe and enjoyed every minute of the flight.

From the time we booked this trip, Bear Viewing, to when we actually got on the plane we were treated so well. Janet took care of every detail and Tim, our pilot, was just as professional, caring, informative, and made sure we had a great time. We saw bears, glaciers, volcanoes, and the Cook Inlet. One of many highlights of our trip. Their website is accurate and we would definitely book with them again. Thank you for a great experience!!

Back in January I booked a surprise flight for my boyfriend’s 40th birthday with Tim and Natron Air. Janet in the office was extremely kind and informative, she answered my MANY questions about the flight and safety. When we surprised my boyfriend with the bear viewing flight he was shocked. Of course anyone would be nervous flying up in a small plane in Alaska but within 15 minutes of being up, Tim made us feel safe and comfortable. You could easily tell how experienced he is but also how much he loves what he does. The Airvan also is equipped with some extra safety sensor equipment that was quite impressive. Putting safety aside, the flight was the most amazing experience of our trip and quite possibly of our lives. The waters in the Cook Inlet are so blue, we flew over beaches and coastal waters, we spotted a number of grizzly bears down below, moose and we even spotted a wolf! What Tim said would probably be be only one spotted all summer. We landed on a beautiful beach and tracked huge bear paws on the beach and even little cub ones. We walked through blooming fireweeds. We took off again and flew over volcanos, glaciers and a lava hole. I was literally ready to book another flight the following day. We all left our flight feeling speechless and eternally grateful for the experience. Tim is amazing and you will not be disappointed! Worth every penny and more!
