Spending two days with Scott and his wife Julie was a delightful and educational experience. You cannot find two more experienced people. Their experience of over 20 years working together out of Petersburg gave us real insight into the town, the geology, the sea, the people, and the wildlife. It is a place of wonderment best seen with a guide who has the knowledge and flexibility to show the best to be seen each unique day. These two days were the highlight of our two week tour of Southeast Alaska.

At the time I write this review, Alaska Passages had all "5" ratings. The law of averages would say that's not possible. But our trip showed me it was possible. Our tour with Scott was a incredible experience - one of the best we've ever had anywhere. To be fair, the LeConte Glacier is spectacular, so that helps a lot. But Scott has a great tour. A wealth of information. Friendly. Skilled. We got much closer than I expected as he had to work his way around lots of ice in the bay. This wasn't a rushed tour. Lots of time at the glacier and circling the icebergs in the bay. It's a small boat with a max of six people so it's an intimate tour. One of our favorite tours of all time, and we've done a plethora of them.

We were in Petersburg for only 2 days and arranged with Scott to see the glacier. Scott was a wealth of information about this extraordinary phenomenon, and we were fortunate to see a large shooter break off. It was a very memorable 4 hours and we are very glad we did it.

Scott and Judy, owners and tour guides for Alaska Passages, took us on a memorable and exciting tour of LeConte Glacier. We were able to boat close to the Glacier's face and saw it calve blocks of ice many stories high. Scott know where to place the boat so that the waves from the calving glacier did not severely rock the boat. After viewing eagles in trees on the shore and baby and mother seals on icebergs, we moored away from the glacier's face and Judy led us on a kayak tour among the icebergs. It was magnificent.

This was one of the most amazing experiences that I have ever had. Captain Scott knew all the great spots and got us extremely close to the glacier! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Petersburg!
