We had such a good time on this trip! We were the only ones on the tour, plus a couple of guys were who going rafting, and we really enjoyed meeting them. The truck ride is super bumpy and fun, especially going though the water. The boat ride was awesome too, and you are given ear protection and heavy jackets. We floated by small icebergs, and the lake was just beautiful! After we landed at glacier camp, we climbed all around the area, and you can get a snack from the guide if you'd like. There is also a peanut-eating ground squirrel. :-) We spent quite a while walking around and taking pictures, and there were pieces of ice that you could pick up on the ground by the shoreline. This trip does require some mobility to climb into and out of the truck and the boat. We highly recommend it!

My wife and I wanted to take family from out of state on an Alaska Adventure. Several people recommended Kink Glacier Tours. It did not disappoint. The owner Tom and our thick bearded Alaskan guide were very welcoming, friendly, and informative on all things Alaska and in the surrounding area.

First we took a ride in a big military transport truck back to the boats. There are a couple exciting stream crossings, no bridges mind you, so the big truck is required. Keep your eyes open for stunning scenery and wildlife. Then into a boat, or air boat depending upon conditions, for a ride to the glacier itself.

Tom skilfully navigated the river, with ever changing currents and occasional floating ice chunks along the way. You get right up to the glacier and icebergs. They are various colors, shapes and sizes. You get out on shore for a short walk up to a magnificent overview of the massive glacier and surrounding mountains.

Before long you reverse the trip back and it is just as exciting. Everyone was right, it was a great and memorable adventure. Worth the money for sure.

Wonderful trip to visit the glacier. From the moment we arrived to stepping into the ‘deuce and a half’ truck and the jet boat trip to the glacier this was an awesome experience. Be ready for a bumpy but fun ride on the truck over rough terrain and through streams. Then the boat ride up the river with small icebergs floating around you to the lake so new it doesn’t have a name and then up to the massive glaciers some amazingly blue. Then a hike near the glacier and some trail mix and a drink. Our guide was very friendly and full of knowledge about the glacier and the area. Recommend them highly.

We took our four month old, 5, and 7 year old on this trip. The Jeep ride over was exciting. Crossing the river and watching for wild life in the back of a “monster Jeep” was great fun. It gets very cold up by the glacier and I recommend some gloves for the breezy boat ride over. Excellent views with plenty of time for pictures from every angle. Tom was exceptionally wonderful to work with in setting up our tour and even mailing my husbands sunglasses back when he found them on the trail. You can’t go wrong with this one.

Tour was absolutely amazing. The tour guides were very friendly and nice. The tour feels more intimate than most others we did in Alaska and it's always nice supporting a small business. The tour has two modes of transport as well, a military-style truck and a small boat, which makes it a unique experience.

What an amazing tour from the old Army transport trucks driving us into the river and then the flat bottom high speed boats that take you up into the glacier lake. So beautiful boating around the icebergs. Then we landed on a small island to enjoy expansive views of Knik Glacier and have a cup of hot chocolate. Excellent and extremely knowledgeable and friendly guides.

After talking to the owner Tom, I knew this experience I had to book. Owner has been the in area a couple decades and really knows the area. The camping experience looks sweet too. We walked the acreage and rode In military vehicles through woods and rock to get to the air boats. Then drove next to glaciers ! Loved every minutes. The owner has really warm winter jackets to keep the guests
Comfy.
Have a great trip -

The Knik Glacier Tour was amazing!! The guys running the tour are clearly doing it for the love of the land and not the land of money, which was obvious throughout the trip. Me and my two buddies had an absolute blast and loved the non-commercialized feel to it. HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone looking for a small-group experience through the Alaskan wilderness. This was amazing!!

We call on the phone and we actually talk to someone and book this trip $1100 for 3 of us. We give our weight as we would know our naked weight not clothed weight with jackets, hats , etc. Get here pay $15 for a cold sandwich and then we are over weight!!! 50 lbs so they want to charge another $250 to take ONE of us out by ourselves. Like really we have a 16 year old so we just leave one of us behind and take 2 and then come back spend more money not be together and all they can say is we are sorry. My husband gave them a weight of 590 and 600 was the cut off but he didn’t say anything to us just took our money !

My name is Tom Faussett. I own Knik GlacierTours. Our tour consists of an overland safari in a big truck and a jet boat ride to Knik Glacier. We don't do helicopter tours at all. There are multiple helicopter tour in the area so Im not sure who you you booked with? Could you kindly remove this review from my business and get it to who deserves it. Thanks Tom

We started by staying overnight at the property in our RV. We had the place to ourselves and were treated to wonderful views of the mountains. The trip the next day was great fun. We are travelling with an 11 year old and the truck and boat made it a fun trip into nature. Tom was informative and welcoming. He has apparently been doing this for 25 years and you felt he enjoyed welcoming us and sharing a glimpse into this amazing environment. When we arrived on the boat we climbed up a small hill and had just incredible views over the glacier. We had plenty of time just to sit and observe and wonder around on the overlook. And then coffee and hot chocolate as a bonus.
The trip is well worth it. No crowds and exceptional beauty. The truck is bumpy so just be aware of that. The road is a dirt road and you are in the back of a truck so that is just normal but be aware of that if you have issues that could make the jolting and bumping an issue. But if you can deal with that, this is a must do trip!
