Santa no-show, lot's of Christmas stuff
One of our party of four had insisted on a visit here during our ten days in Fairbanks. Boy, was she disappointed when she learned that Santa only sits on weekends! Otherwise, there is an impressive array of Christmas-related goods. The visit was somewhat redeemed by seeing the reindeer next door.

Anything you could ever imagine related to Christmas can be found here. Make sure to check the schedule if you want to see Santa! They also have reindeer that can make the visit more enjoyable.

    Christmas All Year
Wow, what a place to visit and shop. We spent hours and hours wandering through the store. Had some snacks while there and spent way tooooo much money on Christmas gifts for the family back home. Fantastic service by all the staff.

    Love Christmas? Go there...
If you love Christmas you must go here. It makes you walk around like a kid in a candy store. So much decorations everywhere and music playing in the background. It made me all happy. Funny thing is that the whole village of Northpole has taken over the christmas theme. Lampposts are all in red/white striping. Outside is a huge Santa Claus and even further on the premises a farm with rendeer.

Will give you the Christmas spirit!
You cant miss this store. So many nice Christmas decorations and Alaska gifts. Great staff too. When my wife realized that our souvenir ornament wasn’t in our bag a few hours later, she called and was helped immediately. The next day we stopped into retrieve it. Santa was the best! He made a video for our grandkids which they loved. Oh yeah, great Sweet Shop with good coffee too!

    Must see stop.
Loved it. Santa Claus was there and just made my day/weekend/week/month/year! He was so kind. He hugged me and talked to me when hubby told him I put up about 12 trees every year. He made a video to our granddaughters telling them to continue to be good and listen to those that love them. He WAS Santa. The store is wonderful. I purchased a lot of stuff and they shipped it back to Virginia where it was waiting for me when we got home. No trip to Fairbanks is complete without going to North Pole. It just puts joy into your heart. I may never make it back to North Pole, but this trip will forever live in my heart and memory.

If you want to see santa or christmas...
It was definitely unique. Very large store with food and ice cream inside. A lot of cute/funny shirts, Santa of course. Large oversized tree and sleigh outside for pictures but they could use some rehabbing. Reindeer also outside. Nice stop.

Antler Academy is the best part
It's fun, but wouldn't go way out of our way for it. Nice way to kill some time though. Santa's House is just a giant store with a sweet shop. It sells medium quality Christmas trinkets and decor, crafts, and general gifts. Santa is there all the time ready to visit with the little ones and he's very talented! We watched him do a video with a grandma to her grandkids on her phone and it was very charming. Staff will provide you with a little cup of food pebbles for the reindeer to nosh on. Much like us anywhere we go, the reindeer are there for the food. No judgement. They eagerly come up and start reaching for the cup and we just pour it into their mouths. They're very accustomed to doing this and it goes quite smoothly. The Antler Academy is the best part. They welcome guests into the pen with the reindeer caretakers. A quick safety tour covers details like "Don't grab onto their antlers," and other common sense pointers The staff are very well informed and are happy to hare their wealth of knowledge - if you ask. For the most part they stand back and let you enjoy the close encounter, but if you engage them you'll find they are most pleased to teach you about these interesting animals. We learned that a reindeer's four-toed feet have dewclaws, and that the entire hoof has evolved to spread out to distribute the animal's weight like snowshoes. They're also well adapted for digging in the snow.

    PERFECT CHRISTMAS GIFT SHOP
The gift shop has every kind of Christmas ornament you may want. They also engraved the ornaments on site for free. They have a small pastry shop. Santa is near the back of the shop and you can take pictures with him. There is a large outdoor pen for the reindeer. Everyone was friendly.

    It’s a gift shop
It’s a Christmas themed gifts shop. There were some unique ornaments that were Alaska made. I enjoyed this as I like to decorate my tree with ornaments from out family’s travels. Lots of things for the little ones like a visit with Santa or create a personalize letter, some of which were pretty funny.

This place is Awesome. Their is a place called Antler Academy across the parking lot with Real Reindeer you can see. They have a GIANT Santa statue outside with a sleigh in front of it for photos. The gift shop is so HUGE it has 3 entrances! Everything from toys, to snacks, candy, ornaments, and clothes etc. and Best of all, SANTA is there!!!! You can take a picture with him, sit in his lap and tell him all your Christmas wishes. There are real notes from kids to Santa on the walls at the entrance, and mailboxes where you can mail out a post card straight from Santa's house. They even sell letters from Santa made out to just about anyone you could think of. Really cool place and a must stop if in the Fairbanks area. It is only about 25 minutes from Fairbanks.

We were visiting Fairbanks and had read about North Pole, AK and how cute the town was so we drove out to see the town and visit Santa Claus’ House. The town is pretty small (population 2,000) and is decorated for Christmas year round. The light posts are shaped like candy canes complete with red stripes. Santa Claus’ House is located right off the main highway and is hard to miss. There is a giant Santa, large Christmas tree and the “House” building. Reindeer stables are down the road a short distance. The “House” is a large store with toys, Christmas decorations, Made in Alaska items, clothing, candy counter and you can send letters to your kids/grandkids from Santa and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus are ready to listen to children’s wishes. We didn’t have any kids with us so we took pictures with Santa to show our grandkids. Mrs. Claus took a video of Santa telling our grandkids to mind their grandparents so they can stay on the nice list(it was a hoot and our grandkids loved it). It was really fun and they do a nice job with Christmas.

I had heard about this place called the North Pole last year when I visited Fairbanks and was told they had an actual house with Santa Clause. I didn't get a chance to visit then but this year I made sure I put it on my list of things to do while in the area. I don't know why but I was expecting so much more than what I got. The outside of the building is beautifully decorated and there is a huge Santa statue outside. When I walked in the door Mr. and Mrs. Clause were taking pictures and videos. I've never in my life taken a picture with Santa Claus. Not even as a kid so when I saw that there was only 1 person in line I decided to finally take a picture with the man himself. It was free of charge and Mrs. Clause took the picture. I also watched as Santa recorded a video for someone and I will say that he does a very good job representing Santa Clause. The voice, the look, everything was on point. I didn't buy anything in the store because I'm not into the whole Santa Clause and Christmas decorations thing the way most people are. I took a few pictures inside and outside the store and then made my way over to the reindeer. They were beautiful. Overall, my entire visit lasted less than an hour. If you're the type to put up lights, decorations, and spend your life savings during Christmas time each year then this place is for you. I just wanted to see what all of the talk was about and say that I've been to the North Pole.

With some time to spare while vacationing in Fairbanks, we thought we would drive to North Pole and check out the Santa Claus House. There are many varying styles, motifs, and artists of Christmas ornamentation for purchase. Some is a bit kitschy; however, some of the artists have items for sale in our local Newman Marcus and comparatively, the prices at the Santa Claus House were cheaper. There is such a wide range, I think many would find something to add to their Christmas decorations or gifts and souvenirs from this shop. They also have a nice selection of T-shirts and sweatshirts on hand. No Santa wasn’t there, but it is March.

All the stars for the reindeer at the Antler Academy, and the delightful person who answered all of our reindeer questions.

No stars for the actual Santa Claus House. While the exterior has enchanting decor, the interior is lacking. The mock Santa's Workshop is creative and well done... so that could be worth a visit for kids. I was looking forward to buying unique Santa Claus figurines, gifts and souvenirs. Sadly disappointed as most items were generic, made overseas or consisted of cheap materials.

Unless you are a reindeer fan, skip this visit... in fact, you could skip the North Pole altogether as the candy cane stop lights are the only unique, quaint thing about the town.

This mega gift shop of Christmas has the talent of bringing back those wonderful childhood memories. My husband bought the book "The Night Before Christmas" that looked like the the exact one that his dad read to them as children. There is a "real" Santa there to greet children of all ages. There are more souvenirs than you can imagine. I couldn't stop buying stuff. We visited there 3 times, and had them ship our purchases home. The reindeer are at a barn like area down the street. Disappointed we were not able to interact with them during the winter season.

You really kind of know what you’re getting when reading about this place ahead of time so it’s hard to be too disappointed. Tourist trap? Over-priced gift store? Tacky Christmas decorations? There doesn’t seem to be tons to do in the Fairbanks area (other than outdoor/nature related of course), so this was a nice little stop not requiring a far out of the way drive. It was enjoyable to see the shop. We didn’t buy much due to prices. Santa wasn’t in, but we were childless and so this was a non-issue. Overall I appreciated the Christmas theme of the city itself just as much or more so than the store.

One if the least pleasant experiences of recent memory. I went with my family to get pictures with Santa for our first Christmas with my 10 month old daughter. We knew it would be busy going the Saturday before Christmas, but we got our number and shopped around and waited for the pictures.

While in line my daughter became overly tired and stimulated.my wife held her up in the air and said her name to try to distract her and get her to calm down. The lady acting as “Ms.Clause” then looked over at her and said,” I hope someone ruins your picture like you just ruined this family’s picture.” My wife apologized profusely and said she was sorry if she had five anything to distract them. We even offered to let them have our turn taking the picture. Ms clause went on to continue to be rude to my wife, talk about how everyone had been being rude all day. We told Ms. Clause once again we were sorry, but there was no need to be run towards us. She then dropped the cherry on top of it all and said “are you going to take this picture or just continue to be a victim all day.” With that we walked away and decided to not get our pictures taken. I then went to the family who we had “distracted” and apologized. They told me that it was ok and they really did it don’t think we had done anything to distract them during their picture.

All in all, it was one of least enjoyable and more abrasive encounters I’ve ever had. Had Ms. Clause simply informed us she felt we were being distracting would have mitigated the whole issue, but instead she chose to instead yell at us instead.

All in all, it was a horrible experience and the only silver lining is that my daughter is too young to remember this.

This is an over-hyped shopping experience. There are a lot of over priced ornaments and trinkets that are mostly not" made in America". If you want to pay $12.00 (for adult) you can feed and pet a group of reindeer. It might be nice for the kids. But don't get super excited about visiting this Christmas store.
