We booked a 2 day fishing trip with oasis Alaska charters and it was the best decision on this trip! From the day we booked online we got a call to confirm and customer service was beyond what we expected. We got to fish with captain Murray and he knows his stuff. Very friendly and patient. We had our limits on salmon and halibut by 930am and spend the rest of the day rock fishing! Thank you oasis!

This is a great little charter company. They have a good website full of information and make booking and paying for everything easy. This is my second charter with Oasis and also the second time out with Captain Murray. Capt. Murray is a great guy, full of hustle and always on the fish. He has a great network of fellow Captains to draw from but I think they mostly draw from him. The re-power on their boat has made it a perfect charter boat for fishing and when the Chaos hits with 3 and 4 on at a time their is ample room for you and the Captain to get the job done. Please give these guys a call or take a peek at their website and get booked and enjoy your fishing trip. This review is from someone who has used several charter operations over the years in Alaska but this is the only one I have used and ever will use in Ketchikan.

This was my first time in Alaska and my first time Salmon and Halibut fishing from a boat. I learned a lot very quickly with the help and patience of Captain Murray. I don't have anything else to go off of, but we were the only ones rolling in with full limits. Captain Murray and the well equipped boat, the "Reel Therapy", was the perfect combo. Captain Murray kept in contact with other guides and was always actively looking for the "hot spot". Words can't explain the excitement when the four of us in the group all had salmon on at the same time on two different occasions and we landed them all. Captain Murray was working hard netting all the salmon and sometimes netting two at the same time, incredible! You will not be disappointed with Oasis, they are proactive, work hard and have excellent gear. Thanks for the great experience and we will be back.

Oasis Charters literally saved our trip. Our original plans blew up due to Covid and JoAnn and our captain, Chris, stepped in and completely blew us away with an incredible trip. We originally were scheduled with Oasis for a 1 day trip, and ended up going out with Chris for all 4 days. Chris was a blast and put us on the fish each day, catching everything from Salmon and Halibut, to Sea Bass, cod and rockfish. We will be back again next year and the ONLY choice is Oasis Alaska Charters. What an amazing trip! See you next year.

What a terrific 3 days with Capt Murray. Everyday was perfect weather and superb fishing. In three days we caught 109 Salmon, 50 Sea Bass, 9 Halibut and 8 Ling Cods....and that's just the stuff we didn't throw back. Murray is like the fish whisperer, unbelievably talented and so laid back, he just lets people enjoy the whole experience. We basically saw all of the wildlife Alaska has to offer from the boat.
Water was calm, processing and packaging was effortless and JoAnn and Mark are great hosts. Next time we come back we are doing nothing else but hanging out with these folks. Best money spent on our whole trip.

JoAnn was extremely helpful in getting us scheduled and making changes that were needed. Capt Murray is amazing! He is efficient, fun, and knows right where to go. We have 2 younger children and a teenager and they all had a blast. Oasis made it easy for us and it was extra enjoyable. The only recommendation would be to make sure you get your fishing license ahead. We thought the company did that but its so easy they do expect adults to do it. Once we realized, we did it while on the boat with no problem!

What an incredible trip for us this year, Oasis and Captain Murray blew our expectations out of the water. We have used Oasis each year and somehow they keep raising the bar and exceeding the previous year. Captain Murray is an absolute savant in putting us on the fish, and coaching us to land every bite possible. To us there is no other choice but Oasis and Captain Murray. 5 star recommendations from us, we booked next year before we left Alaska. See you next year and thank you again for everything, amazing as usual.

5 out of 5. Six stars if I could. Our guide Hunter was very patient, knowledgeable, kind and told great stories, we also maxed out on our halibut and we were able to get some additional fish even after that! We did have it processed and sent home, it’s so tasty! Highly recommend the company, ask for Hunter.

The Oasis Alaska Charters is professional and organized. Mark & JoAnn know customer service etiquette, and it shows! Captain Murray was very professional, punctual, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He worked hard to make sure we caught fish. Several times I glanced back to see other boats following where we were headed to, and I understand why now. Captain Murray is a leader, and he gets the job done! He knows where to find fish. After we quickly hit limit on Salmon and Halibut, Captain Murray headed for sea bass and lingcod/cod. It was quite an adventure too being able to see the whales and sea lions. Both extended day trips were very successful for the 5 of us! Thanks Oasis for a great trip!!!

Fished two half day trips with Josh and caught a limit of halibut both days. What a blast. even did a little salmon trolling. Great guide and a nice person. Don't forget to tip 10-20%. Gas is expensive and the cost of living in AK is high.

My husband and son are interested in afishing trip on Monday, June 25th. We will be there on a cruise from 7-3 that day. They are particularly interested in Halibut fishing. I know you can’t guarantee certain fish, but what are your experiences in catching them that time of the year? I know some times are better than others. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
May can be a slow time of the year for salmon fishing in Ketchikan because the only salmon around during that time are King salmon. The other problem is the State of Alaska released an emergency order that states we cannot keep any King salmon from April 1st to June 15th.
Halibut fishing should be good though as well as the other types of fish found on the bottom like all the different kinds of cod.

The cost for a 6 hour salmon/halibut charter is $250 per person. What day are you looking at in June? The maximum occupancy per boat is 6 so you would go out with 2 boats. And we would not add anyone else to your group.

Hi, we will be arriving in Ketchikan, July 14 at 11 am from the cruise ship Noordam. We are considering a halibut fishing trip while in port. Would you be able to accommodate us at that time, say 12 noon. Departing the dock at 7pm.

Yes we do have availability for a 4 or 6 hour charter on July 12. 12-4 or 12-6 If your book the 6 hour charter you would have time to fish for Halibut and Salmon.

Hi there
You can rent a car to get to the marina or a cab from town is $35 each way. We suggest the Gilmore or the Edgewater in town. There are several vacation rentals available closer to the marina on VRBO. One is the Blind Squirrel and has a full kitchen.
