Had a great time with our family at the George Inlet all you can eat crab feast. Very happy we found this experience while on our vacation. It rained almost every day on our vacation but finding wonderful activities like this made the vacation wonderful despite the rain! The staff was VERY friendly and gave a little instruction on how to get all the crab meat before the meal started. The George Inlet Lodge is in a beautiful location where all the salmon and bears hand out with is great also. The South end of Ketchikan is very beautiful. The price was excellent and we left with full bellies :)

The boat tour, the personable entertaining staff, the eagles and the crabbing were all great BUT go for the "all you can eat crab feast!!!" Definitely not to be missed. They bring you piles of fresh caught, fresh cooked delicious crabs until you sing "UNCLE". It was a definite "WOW"!

We chose the Hovercraft adventure as our Ketchikan excursion during our Alaskan cruise. We booked directly through Alaska Shore Tours as this activity was not offered through our cruise line. It was a great experience and one of the highlights of our trip. We were lucky enough to be the only two on the tour as there was a last minute cancellation by another party. Amazing to watch the hovercraft gliding over the water and being able to move in a way that a boat simply can’t do! Seeing the bald eagles in their natural environment was a treat along with ‘beaching’ the hovercraft. Our guide went out of his way to provide the best photo opportunities for us.

Our tour started right at the ship, Our bus driver, Victor, had a great sense of humor as he toured us around town and then on our way to Clover Pass. Here our guide, Chandra, met us. Chandra was very informative and excited to share the history and information about the wildlife of the area. Our boat captain did a great job of getting us close enough to get pictures but felt safe the whole time. At Silver King Lodge we had a fun hike into the rain forest where again, Chandra, seemed excited to show us the area. The seafood boil was awesome. Used to do this at my grandfather's place in North Carolina. Crab, shrimp, clams mussels, sausage, corn and potatoes all boiled up together with onions and garlic. Wow there was a bunch. We had six people at the table and it was all we could do to get most of the food down. But still managed room for a chocolate chip cookie after. The SItka blacktail deer were fun to see up close and personal as well.

This was my 2nd time visiting this establishment. I highly receommended this event to my friends and family based on my previous experience. This visit was Nothing compared to before. On the previous trip, the driver gave a backround on the area, information on sights along the way, etc. During this trip, We left the meeting point late, our driver never said one word unless she was asked a question. Once at the Lodge there was very little time to eat anything. It was Very Rushed and many people felt as if we were being forced out. The staff was friendly and polite, but there was an obvious push to get people in and out as fast as possible. I'd prefer to just go to a restaurant and eat on my own time if it's going to be like this from now on. This was not booked through a cruise line, however I was there on a cruise and there was plenty of time to get back to the ship.
