We had a delightful day with Eric in Ketchikan! Eric picked us up promptly at port at our agreed upon time. He gave us a great overview of Ketchikan, eagles at the shoreline, attempts at bear sightings at the creek, a fascinating trip to the Totem Park, where Eric knew all we needed to know and guided us through the crowds. We continued our scenic drive through the area, amazed at Eric's knowledge of species and details! He was great! So happy we booked this for our introduction to Ketchikan! (This trip was July 2019, late to post).

Our contact and communication leaves much to be desired from owner Tim White of Ketchikan Taxi Cab Tours. We made a $ 300.00 deposit through PayPal in Dec., 2019 for a tour in May, 2020. Our cruise was cancelled due to Covid-19. We requested a refund early April and initially were told it would take 30 days to receive refund. Well as time went by we started getting the "run around" by Mr. Tim White. Excuses like store robbed and burnt in Seattle, waiting on a loan to make refunds, working hard to reply everyone, spotty internet service and so on. Then Mr Tim White tells us the company has filed chapter 11 and we will have to file on Ketchikan Taxi Cab Tours for a refund. Mr Tim White also stated there is a no cash refund of deposits clause in their contracts. So we are out our $ 300.00 deposit and not sure if there is a chapter 11 filed by Mr Tim White and or where to file. Too bad it sounds like many customers gave good reviews on this business. Not our experience!

In May, 2019, I sent a $130 deposit to Tim White of Ketchikan Taxi Tours via PayPal. In March, 2020, Holland America cancelled the Alaska Cruise/.Land Tour. I contacted Mr. White to cancel the tour and to ask for refund of my deposit. To begin with, he assured me that one would be forthcoming. Weeks passed with no refund. His excuses kept multiplying. He said that he lives on an island and has no internet, that he'd been out fishing and would soon get to the refund, that he had turned the matter over to his bookkeeper, and that he had 700 refunds to process. His website gives internet contact information. The tour was scheduled for May 12. As soon as Holland America cancelled in late March, I notified Mr. White. It's now closing in on four months since then and since his first promise of refunding my money. Apparently, Mr.White's fishing endeavors don't pay his bills. He, obviously, needs the money. The two questions below do not apply since we never went on the tour.

We paid for a 3hour tour that ended up being 4.5hrs. From a salmons life cycle, visiting the places they are born, to the salmon ladder and then all the way to the salmon hatchery. We watched locals fish for salmon too. We visited the totem pole park, a beautiful waterfall, we went gold panning and crabbing on the beach. We found a baby bald Eagle and spent some time watching him. This was all in between multiple visits back and forth to the bear spotting location. Bears were the ultimate for us and Tim didn't give up, he was determined we were gonna see bears so we spent the day going back and forth. We tried some local jams and jellies which were so good, I brought some to bring home. Our fourth visit back to the bears and finally we got our reward, but by this time we were well over our 3 hours. It was amazing and worth the wait, however if it wasn't for Tim wanting to make sure we saw bears, we could have been dropped back to the port half hour before. This is a guy who genuinely wants to make sure you get the full Ketchikan experience. After the bears he could have taken us straight back to the port but instead insisted on taking us to gold creek and a tasting session. We tasted salmon and reindeer and saw a seal in the water before we parted ways with Tim. It was a day both my 8year old son and I will never forget. He sleeps with his pot of gold treasure by his bed and speaks fondly of his memories from this day on a regular basis and that's all thanks to the time and effort put in by Tim to ensure the trip was amazing. When I emailed him originally all I asked for was a trip to see totem poles and to see some bears. What we got was that and so much more. They get booked up years in advance so I wouldn't hesitate in booking this early on so you don't miss out. Thanks Tim for the most amazing memories

We had a great time we didn’t see any bears, but it happens like that. We saw salmon, other wildlife and just enjoyed the sites we did get to see. We had Tim’s son who was awesome! I recommend them to everyone!! You won’t be sorry!!🙌🏻
