It was exhilarating, to say the least!! The guides (Tristen & Raymond) were extremely professional while making our experience fun, adventurous, and informative. I was quite nervous trying this for the first time and it was clear that the safety of all participants was paramount. There was an elderly lady in our group who struggled and the guides went above and beyond to help her get through the course. They were so patient and supportive, while physically helping her manage the course safely. WOW!!

Booked this Ketchikan excursion through Holland America with just a wee bit of anxiety -- after all, my wife and I are both 49, not in great shape, and I'm afraid of heights. After the experience, all I can say is, man, I'm glad we followed our gut!

We had an absolute blast! The ONLY complaint I have is that the "expedition" is just too short. The first couple of ziplines are spent trying to get and keep your hands in the right place (which, trust me, isn't too difficult). The next couple are spent watching the rapidly approaching tree you're zipping toward. Unfortunately, that leaves you with only four more ziplines to relax and really just enjoy the ride! (You can't imagine the feeling of ziplining among and beside dozens of bald eagles as they soar above and below you. That and the views of Herring Cove made this activity one that we'll never ever forget!)

Our "expedition" was staffed by young people -- but young people who were incredibly professional and well-trained. They took their jobs seriously and were very sensitive to each individual's comfort/discomfort level. They were patient and encouraging and made what could be a frightening experience both fun and funny. Also, while our group was made up of adults (ranging from mid-20s to late-50s, I believe that anyone from 10 to 80 would enjoy this activity just as much -- age shouldn't be your "determining" factor.

As with practically every "participation-geared" activity, the zipline "expedition" was a bit pricy, but the memories we carried away with us made every dollar an investment rather than an expense.

I had such a fun time, one of my favorite excursions, this company is great and the staff is so passionate about what they do. I loved every minute! Once in a life time experience, the dogs were so friendly and energetic, and the camp was a blast to visit.

Unbelievably bad experience. One of our party members has a disability and can only use one hand. Before I booked this excursion, I called the company to fully explain the limitation and was told that it could be worked out, specifically, that he could use one hand to steer and brake. I was told this by a supervisor. I made three separate phone calls to confirm this before I booked the trip. When we arrived, we were rudely and embarrassingly turned away with no one even taking the time to see if we could be accommodated. We wasted half a day out of our time at Ketchikan during this fiasco. I would definately reccomend using another company!!

The tour itself is so-so but the company itself is awful. Money grubbing nut jobs who run it like a fast food restaurant.

I took the Bear Creek Zipline Adventure tour, and it was a total blast! The guides were extremely nice and made us feel safe the entire time. We saw a bear on the ride up to the Zipline course, as well as several bald eagles. They taught us how to brake, and how to pull yourself up if you don't make it all the way to the end (which happened to me a few times!). The weather was beautiful, and the scenery was spectacular. There was an older man in his 60s in our group and he had a great time! I used a coupon from the Alaska TourSaver book and was able to get two tickets for the price of one, without any hassles.

My wife and I participated in this zipline while on our trip to Alaska last week. Neither of us had ever done this before but I worked in construction and am used to heights.

The weather was perfect. It was a beautiful day for mid September in Alaska.

We met our guides Tom and David, they outfitted us with all the safety equipment and instructed us on the things we had to be aware of and up the mountain we went to the first (of seven) zip lines.

Before anyone left the platform on this first (and short) zip line our guides checked our equipment and once again reminded us of what to do and what not to do. They were very through, very safety conscious.

There were 7 in our group and we all had some reservations, some more than others. In spite of the reservations we all had a great deal of confidence in our guides. They were well qualified. We were in good hands.

As we finished each line our confidence grew as did the length of the course. At the end we were all very proud of ourselves. We had had a great time. No one regretted that they were there. It was a fun filled day.

Besides the zip lines, the course had a suspension bridge, a rapel rope and an exciting slide at the very end.

Unless you have some physical reason for not trying this great adventure, go for it. Its great fun and you'll remember it as long as you live.

The team which took about 14 of us up into the rain forest were excellent. Their safety briefings were accomplished with humour and were unhurried.
There were about 7 zip wires, some quite long, and 3 swaying wooden bridges.
It was all tremendous fun and very exhilarating. We saw bald eagles and a black bear from on high.
Don’t hesitate, go for it.

Who knew there was a rainforest in Alaska! Our guide, Anthony was so knowledgeable about our lush surroundings (ask him to lick a banana slug) and wildlife. It was a fabulous excursion while in Ketchikan. We had a black bear cross our path 10 feet away (so stay alert) and we saw another black bear feeding by the river. The salmon were beginning to run upstream and an immature bald eagle was trying to decide how to catch one.
We met Wayne, the totem pole carver and he showed us the new totem pole he is working on and Anthony explained the story behind the one recently raised.
In addition, we met the injured bird, Lucy, the Sanctuary is rehabilitating to return to wild, as well as some which will live out their lives in captivity.
We came from a cruise ship and Amy picked us up and returned us right to our gangway. It couldn't have been easier. Also, Amy gave us great tidbits of info on the rides.
The Sanctuary is doing such great work and is so respectful of the land and wildlife. Be sure to put this on your list of "must do" while in Ketchikan!

We were going to zip line in Skagway... glad we chose Ketchikan and Alaska Canopy Adventures for our Zip...Skagway is too cold... And the view and the Lines in Ketchikan are far superior! You take a ride from the pier to the place... Then a unimog up the mountain to the zip area...
From the beginning you feel safe, you are teamed up with expert guides... (Chris and Isabel) were great... Suited up completely... Your personal items are locked and stored.. Off you go to learn to zip.. Then it is TARZAN central... The views are amazing...
I believe the longest line was like 850 feet... And a few suspension bridges as well... At the end you have warm refreshments, and can buy a photo in the gift shop...

Here are a couple of suggestions:
Tie up long hair
No videos allowed on course
Take you cell phone out of your pocket when you are on the platform and take pictures... We got so caught up in the moment, we just plum forgot... You have time... Pray you don't drop it or it is curtains..
Do not take anything valuable... They even make the guys take their wallets out of their back pockets... Just FYI... Remember all of the groups items are locked in one large tub...
Gets cold up there when you are zipping at 30 miles per hour... So a wind breaker might come in handy...
Smile and look to the left on your last run... The photographer is taking your photo...
Pay the money for the photo... You might never do it again!

At 56 and 64 years old this was our first time ever and we had a blast!!! Never know we may just try skydiving next!

Those guides work hard... It is very physically demanding... don't forget to take along some cash and give them a tip!!! They are nice young kids!!!
