Come aboard the "Aleutian Ballad" crabbing vessel as seen on season 2 of the Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch". Depart Ketchikan Alaska for a 3 hour trip to catch king crab, snow crab, octopus, fish, prawns and more. This tour also features some of the best eagle viewing on the planet. Share the allure and adventure that draw fishermen to the sea. Fishing legends that have worked the Bering Sea are your guides, some you may have seen on TV.

The vessel has been retrofitted for guests comfort and fun, with a "live" tank on deck to allow for closer viewing of the wondrous creatures brought on board. Guests stay warm, dry and comfortable while we sail calm and protected waters. This is the REAL ALASKA and you won't want to miss it!

Based on positive reviews, we decided to take this tour in Ketchikan and are so glad we did! The boat is set up with stadium-style seating, so everyone can see. We sat on the bottom level - views were great. Not sure about the upper level. Lots of good information provided, and opportunities to see bald eagles, crabs, and other... More

We visited Ketchikan on 08/02/16 while in the NCL Pearl. Frim our group of 33, we had 5 adults and 4 kids on this tour. My boys love watching Dradliest Catch! It was fantastic! The crew was entertaining and informative. Seeing and touching the sea life and hearing all of the stories was great! We learned a lot, saw a... More

I really enjoyed this outing. It was informative, fun, and hands on with specimines to handle like an octopus, box crab, king crab, othelio crab and some small fish. I particularly enjoyed the sea stories of the 3 men you took us on the your. I learned a lot and oh the trials that boat has endured. Children under about... More

As an avid fan of the Deadliest Catch from its very beginning, I was so excited to do this excursion - just to be on a crab boat and one that was featured on an early season of the show made it all the better! A frequent-cruiser friend said this was one of THE BEST excursions she has ever been... More

My daughter (school aged) and I took this tour while at port on a cruise. It was an incredible excursion and I would highly recommend it. My daughter was fascinated with the tank and really was excited to see the variety of crabs and ocean life that we saw. I was also able to touch a huge crab and learn... More

Although somewhat pricey, this tour was worth it. The crew was knowledgeable and informative. Kids would love it. The stop to see the eagles was unexpected but so glad they did.

We recently travelled to Ketchica and went aboard the Aleutian Ballard for the tour and enjoyed a great day of seeing how the crab fisherman make a living, minus the splashing waves. Our day was phenomenally beautiful, no waves, warm and calm. I am sure this part was just a fluke, but the information and knowledge of the crew was... More

We had stops in Fairbanks, Denali, Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan. This tour in Ketchikan was the best of the vacation. The crew was top notch, with hands on demonstrations and stories. We had bald eagles flying around the ship, and saw a hugh bald eagle nest. It was well worth the price.

Even if you are not a fan of the show; very informative and fun. Absolutely loved Andy! We are just off the boat and thoroughly enjoyed the knowledge about eagles and the various fisheries. And although I thought I was being attacked by a rather large octopus named Hank it was all in good fun. Highly recommended.

We booked this online and got it for less than the cruise ship was charging. It was a short walk from the cruise ship and even though it was a cold and rainy day we had a wonderful experience. We love Deadliest Catch and to see the equipment up close was very educational. The best part of the whole experience... More
