Come aboard the "Aleutian Ballad" crabbing vessel as seen on season 2 of the Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch". Depart Ketchikan Alaska for a 3 hour trip to catch king crab, snow crab, octopus, fish, prawns and more. This tour also features some of the best eagle viewing on the planet. Share the allure and adventure that draw fishermen to the sea. Fishing legends that have worked the Bering Sea are your guides, some you may have seen on TV.

The vessel has been retrofitted for guests comfort and fun, with a "live" tank on deck to allow for closer viewing of the wondrous creatures brought on board. Guests stay warm, dry and comfortable while we sail calm and protected waters. This is the REAL ALASKA and you won't want to miss it!

The crew on board are professional seamen, fishermen, educators, conservationist and entertainers. We have been on a lot of tours over the years, but this one is by far one of the best. A member of the crew even took time to fix the breaks on my walker for me. Be prepared for a hands on experience. The scenery is... More

Our kids loved this excursion. They were a little timid in holding the crabs but your staff was great in convincing them to hold the crab, Thanks! The stores told about fishing in the Bering Sea were great as well as the stories about the fishing equipment on the boat. The bald eagles going after the fish was outstanding along... More

In July 2016 we were excited to take our second journey on the Aleutian Ballad. Our first trip was one of our favourite excursions. I was pleased to see some minor changes made to the program to provide a better environment for the crab. They are no longer dumped on the table but are carefully removed and handled. The King... The crew of the Aleutian Ballad showed us lots of eagles and even a whale. They showed us how crabbing and long line fishing is done. The pots are preloaded with crabs, but the methods are authentic. The narration and stories are riveting and funny. The seats ad covered and comfortable. This is a great tour.

These guys were fantastic! I don't know what was more impressive....the stories they told of life at sea, the Eagles we watched diving for fish, the crabs they caught, or how happy the entire crew was that we were there....they were genuinely excited for us to be there!! Again....it was a GREAT tour and we will definitely do it again... More

Very entertaining and informative tour! Guides and ship crew were funny, knowledgable, and made the whole tour great. Lots of good stories of the life on fishing boats, and saw lots of bald eagles on our trip. Highly recommended.

Really didn't know what to expect except I knew it would be interesting because I had seen a few of the Deadliest Catch shows. The crew were so interesting about what they had done for a living and their stories & experiences were fascinating. Great personalities and very friendly to the audience. I was however, disappointed that we didn't go... More

This excursion is a class act! Captain Dave, Derrick, and Jack entertain you with personal stories that make their time on a crabbing boat real. They allow you to get up close and personal with their catch. The excursion goes by the Eagle Preserve and the Eagles are everywhere around you for incredible pictures. We had a great time with...
