A friend and I took a fly-out trip to fish for sockeye salmon, lake trout and dolly garden. The pilots and guide were excellent, and the scenery and fishing spectacular. The trip of a lifetime (although we’re returning next year!)

We caught fish, got up close and personal with bears and had a seriously memorable experience. Already planning a return visit.

Alaska has so many lakes and rivers it is hard to keep track of them all but Crescent Lake was special. The sun came out and the photo op was beautiful.

It's easy to see how people fall in love with this charming scenery. Mountains, trees, wildlife, fresh air, and gorgeous glacial waters. It's unlike anything you've ever seen and will leave an impression with you, long after you've gone. We had a chance to do...More

There are so many beautiful lakes in the Kendi Pennisula area, but this one is certainly worthy of your time to visit.

We didn't camp here but decided to use the day side to come and cook and hang out by the lake. It was quiet and it offered some picnic tables and also a fire pit for cooking. We only stayed a short time but would...More

I've visited Crescent lake a number of times in the past, it's accessible by a trail that goes by Crescent lake from the north, or by another trail from the south. There is a public use cabin about halfway along the length of the lake,...More

Beautiful setting, awesome cabin on the lake, crystal clear water, great fishing, amazing nature...rude, intrusive, condescending hikers/residents of Alaskans who were all too eager to repeatedly remind me about their firearms. The trails are easy to navigate and very easy to travel--so much so that...More

There's amazing fishing for lake trout and Dolly Varden (arctic char) at that time of year, but it's too early for any salmon. Worth the trip just for the scenery and the wildlife though. Steve
