We met Eric in September and agreed to view his VR tour of the ice caves in the Mendenhall Glacier. Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I have been to the Glacier, but never realized you could experience an ice cave! The photography and camera work was outstanding! It felt like we were in the cave! This VR experience is a great addition to any Juneau trip!

We had been to the Mendenhall glacier nearby but had not been very close to it which I gather you can do as an expensive side tour and if you are fit enough or adventurous enough to participate in a hike on a glacier. In any case most people cannot get permission to explore the ice caves that form under glaciers. This VR tour of ice caves gave us an incredible experience. You felt as if you were there right next to the two guys who explored the beautiful caves, filmed and produced the program. I would give it a full excellent review if they would include more scientific information. The narration is certainly adequate for sports/adventure seeking audienes but we had questions related to how caves form, whether they collapse, who can go there, etc. We got answers to our questions face to face with producers after the VR experience. Would be nice to give more info in the VR program.

Excellent photography, good narration but they would have described visual details further. I asked a lot of questions of the photographers after the session was over.. As I am a senior citizen I would be unable to undertake such an activity on my own, even if the public were allowed in there, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would pay money for this experience if it were near the site of a glacier that I could otherwise only glimpse from the sidewalk viewing area. Found headgear very heavy, otherwise good experience

My friend and I booked well in advance of our Alaskan cruise to hike to the Mendenhall Glacier with Adventure Flow. We were eager to get off the ship and into the rainforest with a knowledgeable local expert. Eric from Adventure Flow is just that; he shared a wealth of knowledge about Juneau, the glacier, local ecology, history and geology during our bespoke trip which saw us hike a challenging trail part way up a mountain to give us a spectacular viewpoint across the glacier and lakes below. It is called their Adventure Hike and covers 4-7 miles and 1000+ feet over 5-6 hours, dependent on the ability of those participating. We were collected from the port and made our way to the start of the trail where we were kitted out with good-quality ponchos (great for keeping you, your rucksack and your phone/camera dry!) and snack bars. During the walk, we stopped to look more closely at the flora and fauna, take photos and enjoy the changing views as we trekked higher. Eric is a very experienced trail leader and trains others, he also knows the area like the back of his hand, so we felt very safe and reassured in bear country. On return to our transport, hot drinks were available for us to enjoy on the journey back to the ship. The trek is fun, challenging, educational and exhilarating, I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to make the very best of their time in Juneau, get active away from the masses, and see the glacier in all its splendour.

This was one of the best tours that I had when I visited with my family. Patrick helped us and it was just an AMAZING experience that you must try! It’s cost effective with virtual reality, it’s only 15 minutes, and nobody has to get cold. My kids can’t stop talking about it. Thanks so much for the experience!!!
