We toured the magnificent glaciers on a private flight. Our pilot was nano, local young guy grew up there, my daughter thought he was very cute. He gave an excellent tour and even landed us in turner lake next to a gorgeous waterfall. Great experience and breathtaking views. Amazing company, the lady at the front desk was very friendly. Our family was very pleased and the pilot recommend a place for dinner too. Everything was fantastic!

Amazing tour over the beautiful scenery of Southeast Alaska; incredible glaciers and an awesome landing on Turner Lake. The pilot was local and so knowledgeable about what we were seeing. Easy to book, welcoming and friendly staff, and the tour of a lifetime. Loved the floatplane experience! We will be back!! Maybe bear viewing, fly fishing or a photo workshop! Great crew and planes!

As always Ward Air delivered a smooth seamless flight for us to Pelican. Everyone in the office and the air is a pro and a pleasure to work with. Riding in float planes is not like hopping on a big airliner and it is reassuring to know that the people carrying you are well prepared for the conditions unique to flying in Alaska.

We chartered a small floatplane from Ward Air for our day trip to Pack Creek on Admiralty Island in late August. We opted to do the bear viewing adventure on our own and, while chartering a plane is expensive, it was both well worth it AND necessary to get there. (Regardless, it saved us more than $700 versus hiring a guide or joining a tour group!)

While researching our Pack Creek adventure I learned there were three companies in Juneau which were the "regular" floatplane operators. I researched each one as best I could, obtained quotes, and ultimately chose Ward Air for their reputation and competitive price.

Our flight was scheduled to depart at 9 a.m., but the weather that morning wasn't cooperating; there was lingering fog. We hung around in the waiting room and finally got the go-ahead to fly at 11:30 a.m. Because of the delay, we appreciated that Ward Air was flexible with our return time, so we could have a later pick-up time.

Our pilot, Dennis, was great. During our smooth 25-minute flight I spotted several bears in an estuary. Dennis circled back in their direction so we could get a better view. At that point, even if we didn't see any bears at Pack Creek, we still saw bears on our trip. Success!

For our return flight, Dennis was at the beach at the exact time requested and we were once again whisked away. We flew another route back to Juneau and, this time, we spotted bears at a few more locations along creeks and estuaries. Each time we flew by, closer, to get a better view. The views returning into Juneau were also spectacular.

Even now I can't decide which was more thrilling -- our time at Pack Creek or the floatplane ride!

Next time we are in Juneau, I wouldn't hestitate to fly with Ward Air, whether to reach a remote lodge or destination, flightsee Mendenhall Glacier or anything else in which we are interested.

I'm a local whose family have a cabin on Seymour Canal above Pack Creek. We don't take flying lightly and we fly with pilots not prices being the decision point. Since the mid-1960's our family has used only 3 air charter companies routinely, 4 overall; Kenny Loken-Channel Flying for years until he retired; then Dave Brown-Alaska Coastal until he retired; then Jaque Norvell - TAL Air for occasional trips when Dave or Ward was busy. For pushing 20 years now we have been flying with Ed and Randy at Ward Air. They are long-time high hours experienced pilots and we know that they don't fly when they shouldn't; they have great respect for and knowledge of the local weather conditions and what to expect in the bays, inlets and lakes they fly to. My advice to all you all is to pick the experience and go with Ward Air, they give solid performance.

We hired Ward Air to fly my wife and myself out to Pack Creek and back. Everything went perfect, and the pilots were very professional.

Wow, what a ride! Thank you Ed! We couldn't believe what we were seeing! So incredibly gorgeous. There is no way to see these sights otherwise.

This was the second time we chartered with ward for a flight seeing trip. Desmond was our pilot both times. Our first was in a wheel 206. This trip was a Beaver on straight floats. Loved the experience and will plan to replicate it each visit.

First let me say we saw no bears; that coloured the trip from the get go! However we did see Seals, Deer, squirrel and a great variety of birds. Unfortunately our guide either had no information about them or was not interested in sharing the information he had.
Ward got us there and got us back and that was about it; our fly over the glacier was cancelled due to bad weather, we had no bear sittings but worse of all the guide and the company did not seem to care. This is an expensive trip; I would think long and hard before booking with Ward Air. Celebrity Cruises - you let this customer down in recommending this particular trip!!!

I’ve flown with Ward air several times and have never been impressed with their business philosophy when it comes to customer service experience. It’s all about them and the hour meter on the plane.
They charter for a lodge we visit often. The lodge experience is incredible but then we climb on the plane when Ward air picks us up and they just drop us on our head at their office. They don’t drop you at the airport, they don’t offer any valuable info to figure it out yourself either. The driver yesterday pulled up, got out and walked off, leaving us sitting in the shuttle with all our luggage and fish boxes. Minute later one of the owners and pilots came out and yelled at us for being there and walked off.
Good pilots, Very poor service, worse attitude... it’s all about them...
they get 3 stars because the planes are as good as any and the scenery is amazing on the way to the lodge, it’s not because they earned it...
