Good place to stretch the legs and gaze upon the cruise ships

Cruise ship viewing, walk along the sand, pet friendly, excellent large spot parking, and very easy to find.

This park has a great hike which runs mostly flat-ish through forests and flooded meadows to the beach. It's an easy and very pretty hike, very quiet, with few other people around - a nice way to spend an afternoon. When we visited it was sunny here in this sheltered valley, even when cloudy elsewhere.

We did not reserve a public use cabin but hiked a couple miles through forest and meadows out to beach. Saw signs of bear activity but no bears.

The trail is mostly flat but lots of little ups and downs and walk-around/over roots and logs. When you get to the waters edge you see why it was worth the walk. Snow capped mountains across the bay make for a beautiful photograph. We saw a variety of birds in the trees (including eagles near the water) and elk in... More

The most beautiful views, there is not one place in Alaska where you will not get mind blowing views but the scenery at this place is just wow.

Well maintained trail with several cabins along the route available for rent. Goes through muskeg, forest, beautiful meadows and eventually follows the coast to the Point. Saw evidence of black bears and saw many eagles and flocks of sea birds. Beautiful trail.

Several trails and loops that go through swamp (on boardwalks), forests and beaches. Warming cabins can be rented overnight. Watch out for bears and make lots of noise. Fantastic wildflowers and birds in the spring - chocolate lily is my favorite.

The view was spectacular, the trail well maintained, but it is a bit of a hike, so I would not recommend it for those who are not in pretty good shape.

We loving hiking, camping, birdwatching, whale watching, etc. in this state park. There are 3 cabins for rent from the state in this park (Cowee Meadow, Camping Cove and Blue Mussel). The trail is boardwalked in many places which keeps you out of the mud, but can be slippery when wet. The trail to the Camping Cove cabin is more... More
