Took the Kennicott from Bellingham to Juneau beautiful inside passage trip. We had a 2bunk roomette not very big but worked ok. Bathrooms clean food in cafeteria good ferry very clean. The scenery along the coast is amazing. Definitely a trip you want to take

If you have tight deadlines do not take the ferry from Haines to Skagway, but instead drive around through Haines Junction and Whitehorse to Skagway. A recent experience showed extremely poor customer service when there was a breakdown with the ramp at Haines. They did...More

Having first travelled to Alaska on cruise ships, we wanted to do our own thing as independent travellers, which we did last year with a car and this year just as foot passengers, making various trips between the ports of Skagway, Haines, Juneau and Prince...More

We really enjoyed the laid back relaxed pace of the Ferry to Alaska. We sailed up on the M/V Malaspina and returned home on the M/V Kennicott. The Malaspina was a touch better as it had a bathroom and shower in our room, but the...More

Great ferry trip via the inner passage. It was great slow trip via Sitka. We got off in Sitka for the 2 hour layover and were able to have a quick tour of the city while in dock. The proximity provided by the AMHS to...More

This was a much more exciting way to travel from Valdez to the Whittier cruise ship dock than taking a bus. The boat was very fast moving and the ride was smooth. We slowed down to see sea otters and sea lions. Our group had...More

Get up close with real Alaskans and the scenery. Not the slow boat but close enough to see Orcas from the deck, bald eagles soaring and dolphin S playing tag with the bow. Buy food I board or bring your own or do both.
