We visited here during a port stop in Juneau during our Alaskan cruise. This is an easy hike to the falls. The path has pea size gravel and was generally easy to walk. This may take you an hour depending on your pace. We walked...More

Start at the Mendenhall Glacier visitor center. If you intend to walk to the falls, there is no fee associated (yet). It is essentially a completely flat walk, accessible by rugged strollers for those with young ones. Wheel chairs would be a challenge on the...More

Nugget Falls is accessible by a paved walking trail leading from the Visitor Center at Mendenhall Glacier. It is well worth the stroll. Not only is the waterfall itself a good sight, but the trail leading to the falls traverses streams and woods that are...More

It is a short walk to this very large water fall, but well worth it. Expect to get wet if you decide to walk to the bottom of the falls. You can get some great pictures showing the amount of water disgorging from the glacier...More

This walk was great with my grandmother, it was beautiful and easy. There are clearly marked paths and a great visited center. Best way to see the glacier if you don't want a 10 mile hike.

I remember when Nugget Waterfall emerged from under the weight of Mendenhall Glacier some 30+ years ago! As a Juneau resident, I walked out there often in all kinds of weather and all 4 seasons. Now when I visit, it's still a favorite place to...More

Nugget Falls are beautiful and located within easy access to downtown Juneau. I did some stretching and yoga in the area in from of the falls. Many people have stacked up stones, creating wonderful images, along with the beauty of nature! Gorgeous!

Usually the crew ship will run a tour bus. I would recommend that you rather book an excursion to canoe the Mendenhall lake and then hike the glacier in which case the tour company will pick you up right at your port. At... More
