We sang our way out to Nugget Falls as a way to keep any friendly bears at bay. Not sure they appreciated us singing the bear necessities but it was our only form of defense. The walk is lovely, large chunks of glacial ice floating past, Mendenhall Glacier ahead and Nugget Falls to the right of center. There are many... More

Beautiful falls made possible by the receding glacier. It's hard to believe, as you stand in the spray of the falls, that it wasn't too long ago that the glacier covered this spot. The falls are much bigger than they appear from the visitor center. Worth the short walk out. Bring rain gear even on a sunny day if you... More

Heard the sound of the falls on my hike out toward the glacier and couldn't resist! Use the trail from the visitor's center (it's too soft in the middle now) and watch for falling rocks and ice. Just beautiful.

We were the first to arrive after picking up a rental car. Took time to enjoy. Spent time in the visitor center after visiting the Glacier and the falls.

This waterfall is lovely whatever the season. Summer can find kids swimming in the glacial pools near the falls, and winter, if the ice is thick enough, folks are skating and skiing on the lake!

The transport from the port to the mirardor takes only a few minutes, the view is very beautiful and you have to walk along a path to the waterfall all that makes a beautiful walk

Sitting just to the right of Mendenhall Glacier is Nugget Falls. The amount of water rolling off the mountain was incredible. There is a nice beach-type area so you can get really close. It was cloudy that day, but worth the hike back there.

This short "hike" (1/4 mile?) is flat and paved. It's crawling with tourists by mid-morning, so it's definitely best to go early if you can. You can walk up very close to the base of Nugget Falls and have beautiful views of Mendenhall Glacier, which apparently used to come all the way to the side of the falls, but now... More

The trail to Nugget Falls is mostly flat and makes for an easy hike. Most take the trail to get closer to the glacier, but the falls are great as well.
