We had a fantastic couple days fishing and whale watching! Booking the tours online was simple and the attentiveness of the staff to ensure that we were prepared before we arrived was much appreciated. We had different captains and crews each day but all were entertaining, professional, and flexible to provide us with an outstanding experience that we'll be remembering for a long time. We highly recommend Alaska Galore Tours to experience the Alaska vacation we all dream of.

We really enjoyed our whale watching tour with Captain Mickey and Jo-Marie. I was a bit concerned that a boat with 18 people might be a bit crowded, but it was perfect! There was plenty of room up front or in back, and a comfortable (and warm) seating area in the middle). Jo-Marie had a ton of information to share with us, as did Captain Mickey. The weather even cooperated and we had beautiful sun to see Riddler, and a number of other whales, including a mother and her calf. Considering this was one of the less expensive options, I was really pleased, even more so after seeing some of the hugely crowded other boats out there. Thanks for a great experience!

What a fab trip. Very intimate on a smaller boat which meant more personal attention and better able to navigate to any whale sightings. Captain Graham did a great job of navigating us to the whales and we saw a few which was a special experience. He also gave us information about the wildlife and was very knowledgeable. The whole trip from pick up to drop off was seamless and couldn’t be faulted. We would have no hesitation about booking again as friendly staff, seamless transfers and excellent value for money especially when you see what the cruise ships are charging for an inferior trip on a larger boat,
Thank you

First, when my wife and I were picked up on the minibus we were the last 2 and there were 2 seats in the back where 5 people sit and there was barely enough room for my small wife to sit let alone 2 of us. I was about to walk off the tour bus ( I wish now I had) when a nice lady offered me her seat next to her husband and my wife and her squeezed into the one opening with the pour people next to them being nearly molested! We drove the entire tour this way and we were not able to sit with our spouses. We had pre-ordered “ham picnic lunches” for $15 only to find out the bus driver stopped by a convenience store on the way and handed them to us still in the paper sack. The driver was not mic’d so in the back it was very difficult to hear his comments and our first stop was a museum that we were rushed through because they were about to close. Next to a botanical garden where we were let out to just walk around without any kind of guidance. Then a mad dash to a hatchery because it was closing in 15 minutes! You can imagine how informative that was! Finally to their “beach” where the driver/tour guide asked if we wanted to go walk on it. Well, it was just mud and those that actually got off declined. The tour description mentioned 3 free rockfish tacos so when we were dropped off at our ship he gave us coupons with an address. Good luck finding it!

My mother and I had an excellent time with Alask Galore Tours. We went on the whale watching tour, John was our captain and he made it very personal and was excellent at spotting whales. I was expecting a bigger boat. More like a small ferry, but the 32' boat was perfect. I prefer smaller boats anyway. The seats were comfortable and the groups are small (5 guests on the boat I was on). I highly suggest going on on AK Glore Tours.

The smaller boat made getting great photos and forever memories easy! We had a lady captain, Mickey, expertly managing the boat and a young college student, Celesta, providing insight into the wildlife and area. There was a bathroom onboard. Snacks were simple but very nice to have. Micky was able to zip to where other boats had told her there were whales and we got to see a mom and calf together. How cool is that!

Alaska Galore Whale Watching Tour was fabulous. Captain Louis and Naturalist/First Mate Libby we’re personable and so knowledgeable. Libby knew so much about whales of all types. We saw 20-25 humpbacks, with the closest one 20-30 feet away. We went to a sea lion colony where 200 or so sea lions were bellowing raucously. But the highlight was seeing a an orca family of 3 hunt a seal. Libby called it a predation. They were teaching the calf how to hunt. They breached twice, amazing. We were mesmerized for over 20 minutes. Finally, John the tour bus driver, who transported us to and from beautiful Auke Bay, where we departed from, was a full of local knowledge. He knew the history of Juneau and we really enjoyed his humor and historical musings.

We had a wonderful time whale watching with Alaska Galore. The boat was new and very clean, with a limited number of guests. It had inside cabins to keep you warm but easy access to be out on Deck. We saw eight to nine different whales, including one who was lunge feeding. The captain was extremely knowledgeable and knew where to take us to find whales. The naturalist board was very good and identifying the whales and explaining their behaviors. Choose this tour over those offered by the cruise ships. You have a small group with excellent service

Absolutely loved my experience! Captain John and Guide Anton were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and hilarious. With their tour, we got to see several humpback whales with their very picturesque tails, breaching, a rainbow, Mendenhall glacier, and my favorite part of it all, Dall porpoises that followed and played with the boat. Above all, John and Anton brought such a memorable and positive energy to the group and the trip. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend Alaska Galore Tours.

This whale watching trip was the highlight of my week long Alaska experience! My niece and her husband that live in Douglas, near Juneau, thought I’d love to see the whales with them, and they were right!! We went out on the Chilkat, with a total of 15 people, on Sunday, June 18th. Captain Rich and naturalist Emali made it a fun, relaxing afternoon. The whales put on quite a show for us. 2 came up to the surface very close to our boat, then we saw a Mom and her baby, next one came up and out of the water, really showing off a little ways away, and we thought it was amazing! That would’ve been enough. We were thrilled! But no, there was more. Captain Rich brought us to another area where we counted a group of 13-14 whales that were bubble feeding. We were able to observe them for some time, until it was time to head back. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end our afternoon. Captain Rich and Emali went above and beyond to make this a wonderful experience. They answered our questions, and seemed to have as much fun with us as we all did with them. It was an unforgettable day!! Thank you! Thank you! I was too busy enjoying the experience to take many pictures, but my niece got a couple of good ones up close, and I took some videos of them feeding, and tried to capture a few stills from the video.
