This is a must! We were on a Princess cruise and having the experience of landing on Herbert Glacier gave us a better appreciation of our views in Glacier Bay and College Fjord. Because of weights and group size our family was split 2 and 2, but that was fine. Our helicopters both landed together on the glacier and we... More

Thank you for sharing your experience with us! I'm so happy to hear you had such a great time! I definitely agree that getting a bird's eye view of the glacier definitely gives you some perspective on what you get to see while you're cruising through Alaska, and gives you a better appreciation of just how massive the glaciers are.... Our group ranged in age from 12-71. Everyone truly enjoyed this excursion. The process was very organized and efficient. The heli pilot and dog mushers were very knowledgeable and friendly. The extra stop on the icefield was well worth it. Our favorite part was walking on the icefield, jumping crevasses, and drinking glacier water! This is an experience that we... More

Thanks for bringing your family out with us! Excellent advice about the extra layers and accessories! It can be quite chilly on the glacier, especially on the Extra Landing tour, so the additional layers can make all the difference in the overall comfort of your tour. I'm glad to hear that you had such a good time with our mushers... More

This is a must do for any visitor to Juneau. Coastal helicopters was very flexible in a accommodating a big group of kids and adults. Checkin was a breeze, lot of anxious folks as it was our first time on a chopper. My kids are 6 and 8 year old, the ride was extremely smooth felt like going up on... More

Thank you for sharing your time in Juneau with all of us! Nervous travelers are a regular part of our day, as many guests are on their first visit to Alaska, and are having their first helicopter experience at the same time! As you experienced, the helicopter flight part of the tour is generally quite relaxing, and most of the... More

We did the tour with dog sledding on Herbert Glacier and then a stop on the lower glacier. I highly recommend this tour, it was a once in a lifetime experience. Our pilot was very good and knowledgeable. He educated us a lot on the lower glacier. Very cool. I would add, regardless of the weather in Juneau, wear a... More

We had so much fun ride the helicopter up to the glacier and then the real fun began by meeting the dogs and riding the dog sled. Well worth every penny.

I was worried about the kids (age 3 and 5) on this tour but it worked out wonderfully. They give you booties to put over your shoes and I wish I'd known that before packing 6 pairs of boots to outfit our whole family. That was quite a bit of weight in our bags! The yellow helicopters made for great... More

Even for those of us that are afraid of heights, this is not to be missed. The pilot and tour crew were fantastic, friendly & helpful. To see nature in this raw state, to touch it was incredible. the water running off the glacier creating caverns that reflect the light and creates beautiful hues of blue. Amazing, i highly recommend... More

We booked a glacier walk-dog sled tour on Herbert Glacier. We had never flown in a helicopter before, but our pilot was great and none of us ever felt nervous. The views were great and our pilot pointed out some of the local landmarks. We landed at the sled dog camp first and then he flew us to another part... More

Definitely the highpoint(literally) of our trip to Juneau. A well run operation. We had ample time to explore the glacier formations. Thank to the loaner boots we did not slip at all.

Very satisfied with the service we received from Coastal Helicopters. Prompt at the dock, efficient when fitting us with snow shoes and appreciated Jamie our pilot who emphasized safety yet was very accommodating in our interest when visiting the glaciers. Felt so fortunate to have amazing weather to see the beautiful glaciers and landscape and especially blessed to be able... More
