We took a Gastineau Whale Watching excursion while in Alaska. The boat, captain and guide were simply excellent. Luckily, we had beautiful sunny weather (early May) and now have many memories, and photos, of Whales, Sea Lions, Eagles and much more.

We had a great whale watching experience that included regular whales and a pod of orcas. the staff Colton, Captain Lee & Keith were friendly and informative. Their boats were comfortable, safe and in great shape. I would highly recommend this excursion in Juneau.

Alaska has the most wild beauty I have ever seen, it's just breath taking. On this particular day the sun shone and it was warm we went on a boat with an all girl crew to see the wild life. We straight away came across a small school of Oca- killer whales, we followed them for about half an hour.... More

On a cruise at the end of the summer, my wife and went out on a boat for the whale watching tour. We were not disappointed. There was a pod of killer whales that stayed close the boat for a long time. We saw harbor seals, sea lions, and humpback whales as well. What a trip!

Went out on Whale Watch and it was great. Had a great biologist/guide and a great captain. They went out of thier way to find us whales. It ran a touch long and it was a race to get back to the ship but we made it. We would go again if we are here.

You expect to see whales up close but forget that the laws do not allow you to get close. The boats have to keep a minimum distance away so you end up with a second or two of whale breaching. Not cheap and not much whale viewing. We saw 5 whales--which is alot. However, it just wasn't all that great.

My wife loved the trip and all the scenery. While we did sea Humpbacks (blow holes and tails, and Orcas (fins), as well as lots of sea lions, it was the Alaska coast that was the highlight. Even though we were already on a cruise ship, taking the small boat out for the whale watching trip is well worth the... More

While the 2016 season is about over, when you schedule your Alaskan vacation or cruise, you really want to engage Captain Jack or Captain Alan of the M/V Scania. This is an excursion not used by the cruise ships. Quite frankly, way better. Maximum 12 passengers, not over crowded, very accommodating, food and drink on board without having to pay... More

Animal Planet Alaska’s Whales and Mendenhall Glacier trail by Gastineau Guiding in Juneau was delightful. There were about 15 people on the tour. Kellie led the hike to Mendenhall Glacier- very impressive and she passed on a great deal of knowledge during the hike to help us understand the area and climate change (not boring!) The boat ride was truly... More
