Everyone was so helpful and accommodating when I picked up my gear. I chose the Amalga Harbor destination to drop my kayak so I could paddle near Eagle Beach. Getting there from Auke Bay (by car) was easy enough, and they had plenty of single and double kayaks at the launch area. It was a great day!

We rented a tandem kayak for an 8 day trip to Endicott Arm. ABAK was amazing. From helping us plan the trip before ,to outfitting us with top quality equipment, going over our plans and helping us transport to adventure bound boat and even holding our extra gear while we were out. Liz was so organized and responsive and Corey was super helpful as he is a treasure trove of information and even went so far as to bring us laminated maps and make sure we were knowledgeable before embarking on our trip. Endicott Arm and Fords Terror were magnificent. The sheer majesty of the fjords, the wealth of marine life and the solitude of the wilderness made for a soul charging and life changing experience. Could not have achieved it without ABAK and will forever be grateful to everyone there.

Just what we needed for an afternoon of open water exploration. We went around some islands on the north edge of Auke Bay & over to Douglas Island. Were hoping to see some humpbacks, but none showed up. Still had a great time.

We flew to windfall island and found the kayaks we had rented from the company in the woods as promised. They were incredibly helpful in preparing us and making sure we where well equipped with maps and info on where to camp and how to get safely to pack creek to view the bears. The equipment was perfect and our experience amazing. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

Two of us paddled from Wrangell to Juneau in June-July, 2021. When we got to Juneau Alaska Boat & Kayak picked us, our gear, and our kayaks up and took us to our hotel, which was about 10 miles away. They stored our kayaks for three days and then picked us up and took us to the Auke Bay Ferry Terminal. They were very helpful and did a great job for us. I highly recommend them to any kayakers needing assistance in Juneau.

We spent 4 days kayaking Tracy Arm using equipment we rented from Alaska Boat and Kayak Rental. The equipment was in good working order, with no issues, and we were glad to be able to rent some Alaska-specific equipment including dry suits and neoprene walking booties. Almost as important as the equipment was their pre-rental briefing. Corey was knowledgeable about the campsites, tides, pick-up and drop-off locations, and so much more. We would have struggled without his information, but had a wonderful 4-day experience after making some changes based on his advice. Their experience with the boat company that ferries kayakers was also helpful in arranging the logistics. We also really appreciated the pick-up at our downtown hotel to the boat dock and the return, which was a great courtesy.

The staff at Alaska Boat and Kayak are very professional, kind, and super helpful! Our kayaks were in great shape, and they even sent along a repair kit.

Auke Bay is the perfect spot for an adventure. The staff instructed and outfitted us and set us in our way with some perfect recommendations for us as beginner kayakers. We saw a sea otter and paddled with harbor porpoises!! A beautiful day and lifelong lessons about working together to make it further (and more fun!)

We live in Auke Bay and had a medical issue this week while walking near the kayak rental shop and simply asked if we could sit on their steps to rest. All three employees stopped what they were doing and offered help, from providing water to even driving us home. Most importantly, they provided empathy for the situation. If you rent from this team, I can assure you that you will be well taken of and will not just be a $-sign. They care.
