About
We are the only aerial tramway in Southeast Alaska. We are located right at the beginning of historical downtown Juneau. We will glide you up to 1,800 ft. above sea level in 5 minutes. Enjoy the narrated tour while we whisk you away to breathtaking views of the Chilkat mountain range north of us and down the Gastineau Channel to Admiralty Island south of us. All of our amenities are located in the mountain house including the Raven Eagle Gifts & Gallery, the Timberline Atop Mt Roberts, the Chilkat Theater, the Nature Center. An extensive trail system can lead to you alpine meadows and fantastic views. We look forward to seeing you on the mountain!

If you hike up to the top of Mt. Roberts, the tram ride down is less costly - free if you buy enough stuff in the restaurant and/or gift shop. It's a tough hike, though - don't try it if you are not a reasonably good hiker, and wear the proper footgear: plenty of places you can sprain an ankle!

The view available from the top is breathtaking if you have a fairly clear day. But the mountaintop is often enshrouded by clouds, in which case your view will be much more limited.

Our cruise stop in Juneau was not very long so we opted for some quick sightseeing and souvenir shopping. The Tram is right there and easy to get on. And our family was travelling with a elderly person in a mobility scooter. The operators were friendly and helpful and could accommodate the scooter with no problems. The trip up is not too long about 5 minutes and t he views are spectacular. once there was a terrific gift shop.. and snack bar... other aspects we did not get to explore in much detail I'm afraid. While the main area was handicap accessible some other areas might be a little tricky to navigate, like the nature center. Overall very gald we did this.

Very neat and you can get amazing views/photos. To travel up and down on the tram it is $25 per person. If you want to do some extra hiking this this may not be a bad deal at all, as they do have trails. One important tip we got from a local was “if you cannot see the platform at the top it’s definitely not worth it”. Keep that in mind as the cloud coverage rolls through.

This is sort of a must-do in Juneau. There are the usual tourist things at the top like a gift shop and restaurant but the real draw is the view from the tram and from the top of Juneau below. Really enjoyed this.

The tram goes up the mountain so you overlook Juneau, the Gastineau Channel, and snowy mountains. The restaurant at the top is closed due to low attendance because cruise ships are not back to Juneau yet. However, the bar and shops are open. The view is excellent.

This is not your typical tram ride. The tram, trails, cafe, and visitor center is operated by the Tlingit. The art, film, and Tlingit story is very compelling. Even on a cold, rainy day - the views are awesome. This was a perfect inclusion for our great Alaskan adventure.

Our cruise ship stops at the bottom of the mountain and even though the weather wasn't great, we enjoyed riding up the tramway. You get some spectacular views, specially of the cruise ships below. We ate a small meal and had drinks at the restaurant on top and took photos of the stuffed bear. We browsed around in the gift shop and the smaller souvenir shop. There's an auditorium that was presenting an Alaska history lesson. Behind the buildings down a walk, a bunch of us we played in the snow and took some photos as well. On the side of the building, there's a cool graphic showing the wing span of different birds and an eagle that you can compare your wing span to. The ride back down was cool as well and you can see different parts of the mountain and terrain if you switch side of the car. Don't recommend this if you're afraid of heights!

The tram is (or was) one price for a day, and take as many trips up and down the mountain as you want. On the way up you may spy an eagle’s nest! At the top you’ll find trails, a visitor’s center, coffee shop, theater with history of the area and people. Walking trails and beautiful views. It’s worth your time.

We went up the Tramway to see the amazing view's over Juneau and to check out the nature centre and gift shop from above. The tram ride was alot of fun the kids really enjoyed it. There was lots to learn about up there. You also can see guys doing incredible carvings. There was lots of neat and different stuff in the gift shop, there was a small cafe that you could get something to nibble on. There were all sorts of walking & hiking paths. We all learnt lots on the Nature centre. We also saw tons of birds. It was a fun place to spend an hour or so especially with kids. You could probably spend all day up there if you really wanted.

Hours were limited in June 2021, but luckily, the tram was open during our two days in Juneau. I'd consider this a must-do for the views alone. The restaurant didn't seem to be serving food, but the gift shop and nature center were open. We didn't hike since it was cold and rainy. The $25 ticket is good all day.
