The ride was fantastic and beautiful view going up the Tramway. The ear popping travel was great as I could not hear the presentation from the Guide on the history of the Tram. THIS WAS A GREAT RIDE!!!!! Ladies and Gentlemen take the ride.!!!!!!!

If you dont want to hike up Mt. Robert's, this is a great way to still gain access to the great views of Gastineau Channel! The ride is quick and safe. Lots of educational info and local gifts at the top, also a great restaurant...More

This is right by the cruise ship terminal. We booked online before we left on our cruise but if you are not booked the ticket office is right there. It's an amazing ride to the top. This was the only morning we had rain but...More

The tramway was too expensive for what it is. The view is limited on the ride, and when you reached the top there really wasn't much to do. If you're killing time it may be worth the price, but I could have definitely found a...More

While in Juneau we decided to do our own thing and went up the Tramway. The view is nice but not outstanding. Unfortunately the trails around the top are in need of some repair. There are a lot of stairs that are in a bad...More

The tram is great if you don't fancy the hike all the way to the top of Mt Roberts, but it doesn't actually take you to the top, and is very expensive, and very crowded. Saying that, it makes for an easy ride past the...More

Only reason for 3 stars is that it was closed. I bet the view would have been amazing, but Juneau’s weather can get pretty tricky so if it’s foggy/rainy/misty probably best to avoid and save your money.

Juneau was one of the ports on our cruise, and we decided to go up the tram as one of our activities there. The ride up was nice (although I think if we had more time to spare, I would have preferred to hike), and...More

Technically yes the weight limit is 60,000 pounds according to the plaque in the tram or 60 adults but about 40 fit.

the tram closes at 9pm. If there are no lines you should be able to squeeze in a quick trip up and down.

6/30 custom day tour (2 Replies)
we are a group of 18 ( 9 adults and 9 kids). we are looking for a custom tour of Juneau for 6/30. we can start at 11:30 am and have time till 8 pm. Things that interests us is whale watching, Mendenhall Glacier's trek , ziplines / walk in the rainforest, The Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway and salmon bake. is it a good idea to rent cars? get taxis or looking for a custom package?

All you need is transportation. Don't arrange any "package" and you are better having the transportation some what flexible. I'd suggest you figure out your whale watch- first, then put in your other attractions, where the time and location fits best. IF you are open- car rentals could offer the best use of time, if you don't want wasted- down time. .
