I think Chris, the owner of Tok River, is probably a decent guy who is now under the gun with the stress of cancellations due to the Coronavirus pandemic. He chose to ignore his own written policies in only issuing a partial refund to me, in spite of the fact that I cancelled

Response from tokriver, Owner at Tok River Outfitters
Responded Mar 27, 2020
Peter was made fully aware of, and in agreement with our Deposits and Refunds Policies prior to securing a booking with Tok River Outfitters, as follows: Deposits: To secure a booking a deposit of $250 is required. Deposits are accepted via PayPal to tokriver@msn.com, or by credit card. Deposits are refundable for anything beyond our control, I.e. ship delays, weather, health; that sort of thing. We do charge a $25 fee for cancellations. Final payment is due on arrival. The banking service we use charges a fee for each transaction, whether it is monies going in or monies going out. This is the reason for the $25 cancellation fee. So Peter threatened me with a bad review if I didn’t return his entire deposit. I don’t respond well to being bullied, and told him so in my last email: “Peter, you may write as you please. I will not be bullied by your threats. Our current policies are in the email I sent Jan 20 of this year. You obviously had access to that information and were aware of our refund policy when you chose to secure a booking with Tok River Outfitters. I do have the ability to respond to reviews and will most certainly point this out. Your refund is issued according to these policies. I think this concludes our business and I will not be engaged in a vitriolic exchange of threats and emails.”

We saw so much wildlife! And even though I lost the Halibut fishing competition to my dad, I had an amazing time. Chris is so down to earth, knowledgeable, and friendly, I felt like I had known him my entire life. He treated our party of 6 like VIP's. If you want a truly awesome

We sailed with Chris on a full day of whale watching and halibut fishing while on our Alaska cruise. This was hands down the highlight of the trip! Chris was very accommodating as I was trying to figure out the best option for our group of 6. Only 2 wanted to fish, but we all

Two of us booked a 1/2 day fishing with Tok River Outfitters when our cruise ship docked. They were very accommodating. Chris & his daughter were friendly, experienced & professional. We both caught a lot of halibut, but state law says we could only keep one each. Chris made
