Alaskan sized adventure! This is it, the world's largest zip-line: 5,330 feet long, 1,300 foot vertical drop, 60 mph maximum speed, 300 feet highest point from ground, 1.5 minute ride time! If you are looking for true adventure then the ZipRider is for you. Unlike anything you've seen before the ZipRider cable ride at Icy Strait Point is truly a once in a lifetime experience. Your adventure begins when you board your bus for the ride to the top the mountain. Your driver will narrate as you pass through the village of Hoonah and then up the mountainside. Once on top you will take a short walk to the launching area. At 1,300 feet above sea level you will sit into a special harness seat and await your launch. Six guests launch at once, and it is a race to the bottom! 3, 2, 1 and you're off, accelerating to 60 mph as you pass 300 feet above the treetops. If your eyes are still open you will see sweeping views of Port Frederick, Icy Strait and your cruise ship far below. Your ZipRide concludes with a break-activated landing on the beach back at Icy Strait Point.Participants must be between 90 and 275 pounds and be comfortable with heights. This ride is not recommended for individuals with back or neck problems, or who are pregnant. Photos will be available at the end of your ride!

Allow about 90 minutes for this attraction which includes a bus trip up the mountain and an exhilarating zip line ride some 5,330 feet down the side of the mountain. Didn't see anyone upset - only smiles and squeals of joy overheard overhead as riders descended the mountain.

Not my thing, but several of the people on our cruise took the plunge and said it was exhilarating. You are driven to the top of the mountain and many said the beginning of the ride was like jumping out of an airplane. It is billed as the world's largest zip rider and from the look of it I believe... More

What a rush. Everyone in my family went at the same time and it was the highlight of the trip. The bus ride up with Glenn was the most informative bus ride I've ever been on. It is awesome to listen to how proud he is of his community. Plus, we even saw 2 brown bears on the way up.

Fast long zip. Everyone in our group loved it, even the fraidy cats who considered the ride of shame in the bus down the hill. Just do it. No regrets.

The bus ride alone was very interesting and entertaining, but the ZipLine! Wow, what an incredible thrill and it's over before you can think about how fast you're going. I wanted to do it again immediately!

Our entire family did the zipline, and it was worthy of all the high ratings it's received on here. It was exhilarating! They take you to the top of the mountain and drop you...woohoo! It looks as though you are going to crash into the trees at the end, but the landing is actually pretty soft. Try it....you'll like it!

Have done many ziplines but this, by far, was the single most exhilarating single traverse I've done. At a little over a mile in length there is more than enough time to get comfortable in the sling and really enjoy the magnificent scenery that Hoonah has to offer. An added plus is the very educational bus ride from the port... More

This was my fourth time visiting and riding the zip. I took my friends and had just as much fun as my first time. Highly recommend this. Staff at the top of the zip are fun and entertaining. Ride up was educational and interesting. The views you see from this are amazing. Take your camera and go pro! Keep your... More
