What's there not to love about this farmer's market? We visited on Wednesday and returned on Saturday. There were more vendors on Sat. Lots of people walking around, eating the local foods and browsing the crafts and colorful flowers. We enjoyed the halibut tacos, fried green tomato sliders, donuts and Russian potato pies and fruit pies. And don't miss the birch syrup. A very different flavor from maple syrup, less sweet, more bold. The owner of this business explained the production process which is very time consuming and allowed us to sample. We bought 2 bottles and they are a delicious memory of our vacation.

If you are lucky enough to be in town Wed. or Sat. morning, this is well worth a stop. Local singers, produce, crafts, jams, food trucks. the best seafood chowder we had in Alaska was a $5 cup from the farmers market. Also good fish tacos.

We stopped at the Homer Farmer's Market and enjoyed wandering around sampling some local fare and buying a few treats to take with us. There was a nice variety of crafts, food, produce, etc. The vendors were willing to share their knowledge about the area and their products. We picked up some great jam, birch syrup, jerky, halibut cheeks, and several other things. I would recommend stopping by!

I went on a Wednesday afternoon. Perhaps their Saturday market is larger. There wasn't much there. I got a couple of small jellies. That's about all I was interested in.

Enjoyed inter acting with local people and learning how they lived, what they grew, and what they made. A good cross section of agriculture, arts, crafts and other interesting subjects for conversation.

I love farmer's markets, and this is a good one. It is open on Saturdays and Wednesdays, in the summer. There is plenty of room for parking. Fresh food (veggies, breads, etc.), soaps, and handmade items are among what you will find.

A nice little farmers market. I bought jelly to take home and a couple varieties of kettle corn to snack on. I was entertaining myself while my husband was fishing.

We stopped by to get some salad ingredients for the rest of our RV trip around the Kenai Peninsula and found some amazing produce. We also grabbed a small jar of fireweed jam and a blueberry muffin, so...yum!

If you are late you may miss out on the best products so go early. You can't start buying until the opening bell rings but it is good to walk around and decide what you want in advance. Many items to choose -- Beautiful flowers, lettuce, beets, zucchini, baby turnips, oysters, fresh baked breads, cookies, rolls and so much more.

This is a great place for fresh locally grown produce and home made products. I am amazed to see the number of farmers and the variety of produce that is grown in Homer, Alaska. The seasonal fall bounty of produce were astounding. I snatched up some zucchini blossoms (can’t find that anywhere else in Alaska). There were farmers selling indoor and outdoor locally cultivated oyster mushrooms. Fresh free range chicken eggs were a must try. The best deal was from the locally sourced Jakoloff Bay oyster farm right across Kachemak Bay (12 for $12). Also fresh local vacuum frozen seafood from Island Seafoods were available. They provide fresh seafood to many restaurants in Homer. The special of the day was Alaskan sole for $6 a pound. They also had halibut cheeks, rockfish, cod, etc. There were also locally harvested birch syrup, which is less sweeter than maple syrup. The peonies farmer was selling a bunch for $10 or $3 each. Fresh honey, jams/jellies, pickled vegetables, homemade salsa, baked goods, etc. were also available for purchase. This was a great place for lunch with many vendors. The seafood chowder was very delicious for $5 and the calzone was made to order in a portable pizza oven. A food truck offered fish tacos. The farmers market is open Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm, as well as Wednesday’s. This is definitely the place to spend some time on a Saturday morning for locals and tourists.
