This artist produces immense oils of Alaska landscapes and they hang in a building that can be noted as one of Alaska's larger art museums. Admission is free, and Lowell and his wife usually host guests who come to the gallery. A large gift shop sells nothing but the artist's work; paintings range from $750 to $30,000, and prints start... More

Norman Lowell is clearly a well loved artist. He has lived near Homer, Alaska for a number of years and appears to be a bit of a celebrity there. His very comprehensive gallery covers the arc of his long career and is quite interesting. You can see the various changes, themes and periods of his work simply by walking from... More

One of a kind but more than that...imagine a piece of art the size of a wall? Norman Lowell is known by locals but world wide for sure...his gardens are beautiful too and his place is like a museum..if you appreciate art you should on the way to Homer or on the way back take the time as his work... This is a great place to stop. We were actually able to spend some time visiting with Mr. Lowell. What an amazing artist and man. His art work is absolutely beautiful. We spent at least an hour just looking at and admiring his work, and another 45 minutes getting to know him. You don't even have to be an art... More

Norman and Libby are the most gracious hosts anywhere. We have known them for 42 years, and always bring our out-of-state visitors to see the Norman Lowell Gallery. Hard to explain the experience, awesome comes to mind. But that overused word doesn't come close.

I've lived here well over a year and I cannot believe it took family coming up for us to finally make it to this gallery for a visit! The artist is a very special gentlemen and so nice to chat with at the end of walking through the gallery. His artwork is truly spectacular - if you like paintings/artwork in... More

What a jewel that far too few people know about! This artist is now in his eighties and is nearly blind but is still producing great works of art. HE LOVES WHAT HE DOES! You will not believe what you'll see. It was our highlight while in the Homer/Anchor Point area.

The detail and variety of Mr Lowell's work is very impressive. It is very obvious that he loves and respects his subjects. The detail and depth of his work is remarkable. I am certainly not an art expert but I was definitely impressed with what I saw here. He has some very large works in this gallery that must have... More

Very Impressive Gallery. Beautiful Artwork! Met the Artist and Wife and they are so generous with their time, and to share his talent with us was a special treat.

We stopped here as an unscheduled stop on a land tour and it was worth it. The gallery was beautiful with so much art work to see. The artist and his wife were very nice.
