something different to do for sure. We flew a float plane in and ferried back...make it fun! there are small places to eat and neat to walk around...these folks are isolated unless they fly or ferry across the Bay....go so and imagine if you can live that life yourself?

We took this ferry because previous reviewers indicated that the Captain had stopped before to view whales if they were sighted. We didn't expect to be going slow enough to actually see any to stop but about 15 minutes into the trip the boat slowed down dramatically. There was a whale. I didn't get to see that one - he... We experienced six foot waves on the trip from Homer to Seldovia. The captain knew how to ride the waves and the crew did a great job making sure passengers had what they needed and wiping up spills. For those unaffected by the turbulence, the coffee was great. The ride back the next day was over smooth water and seemed... More

We took the ferry to Seldovia for the day and were very pleased with the clean boat and friendly staff. Complimentary tea and coffee on board, clean bathrooms. The trip to Seldovia takes about 45 minutes, and we got to see otters along the way. The views are incredible and docks on both sides are sturdy and wheel chair accessible.

We were in Homer to go halibut fishing, but it was cancelled due to the ocean conditions. We decided to take the ferry for a day trip to Seldovia. What a great decision. The ride was rough, but that was expected. The Captain did all she could to adjust the speed of the boat to the wave action, which helped... More

The ferry is first class. Plenty of comfy seats. Departed on time each time. Bice, quiet, non choppy ride.

The Seldovia Bay Ferry is the best way to get to Seldovia. It is clean, safe and rides smoothly. It is on time and only takes about 45 minutes to get there. We slowed on the way to do some whale watching.

Ferry dock (ramp) is easy to find and has free parking nearby. Ferry is new-ish, clean, and basic transportation--what can you really say about a ferry. If visiting Alaska, be sure to have a copy of the Northern Lights discount book. It saved me/us the price of an adult R/T ticket, paying for the cost of the book at just... More

If you're a taxpayer, you support this speedy ferry that competes with the local private sector. Originally the locals were told it would provide transportation for cars... but it doesn't.
