My husband and I just recently spent our one year anniversary at Seaside Adventure. We went on a kayaking excursion and staying in the cabins; it was wonderful. Rick and Dorla are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the animals, history, plants, and culture which surrounds their beautiful home. We are from Anchorage and have explored much of Alaska and even... More

I had no idea what to expect as my wife had done the research, but we experienced the area around the islands in an a way not often shown in travel ads. It was often very small and very peaceful and always incredible. Thank you Rick, we'll will see you again.

I took a visiting friend on your day cruise. We were both new at kayaking and felt pretty adventurous trying something so strange to us both, but we wanted an incredible "Alaska" experience so we took the chance. O...M...G! Not only was it safe, it was amazing! It didn't tire us out paddling at all, which sort of surprised us... More

Can't say enough good things. Host and hostess are superior. Ranger Rick is a walking cyclopedia of the natural habitat. Cabin was perfect. If you don't like an outhouse or running water, this adventure is not for you. If these things don't bother you, this location is a dream.

Lovely trip, Rick is very knowledgeable about the sea life, the region and its history, the geology and more. The area is so beautiful so it did not matter that it rained most of the day. The Cabin they have for rent is much more than a cabin! it is a house with a million dollar view. No running water... More

We took our 14 year old with us on this wonderful day of kayaking location across Kachemak Bay. Rick and Dorla are excellent teachers on kayaking, wildlife, edible plants, marine life and showed us artifacts they have collected in the cove over many years of living there. The lunch served on a beach was delicious soup made of Salmon, rice... More

A Seaside Adventure kayaking tour was the highlight of our trip to Alaska. We were a small group kayaking at a slow pace, and we saw a lot of wildlife including, whales, porpoise, otter, seal, bald eagle etc. While kayaking along the coast of the islands in Kachemak Bay we were close enough to observe the richness of the intertidal... Our family of four stayed in one of the cabins for two nights. While spartan, the cabin is clean and cozy, with a heater and idyllic bay views (partially obstructed by conifers) from the large living room window. Rick could not have been a better host, providing a camp fire complete with schmores, use of his telescope and binoculars, and... More

Rick and Dorla are so kind and knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the area. Our cabin was comfortable and clean, and very quiet. We got to see some wildlife and the landscape is so beautiful.

My husband and I were lucky enough to have Rick as a kayak guide on our honeymoon 23 years ago. When we went to Alaska this year with my whole family, ages 16 to 91, Rick and Dorla took us again! They took such good care of us, and made our day on the water great. Couldn't ask for a... More
