I never go to Homer without stopping at Ptarmigan Arts on Pioneer Avenue (the main drag)! The inventory is ever-changing but very cool. You'll find paintings, watercolors, pottery, photography, jewelry and much more - all by local artists and terrific souvenirs of Homer and Kachemak Bay.

Interesting shop with handcrafted jewelry at affordable prices. Within walking distance of cruise drop off sites. Owners are interesting to visit with.

We visited this coop multiple times on our trip to Homer and learned that the artists themselves work about one day a month to keep it going. We got information straight "from the horse's mouth," and learned a lot. There is something for everyone here, with a lot of diverse collections. The only problem is narrowing it all down to... Been here many times, and I always seem to walk out with something I forgot I needed. Really cool stuff, and a nice variety, something for everyone kind of place. We love to take our out of town visitors here.

This shop has quite a variety of art work by local artists. We visited on two different days and met two of the artists whose work we'd purchased. Definitely worth stopping.

This shop only has Gifts by Homer arts and craft makers. If you want authentic gifts this is the place to shop. The staff are very helpful and explain who the maker is.

A lovely local cooperative gallery with many different types of media. There were fork crabs, lithographs, photos, prints, pottery, and others. The Gallery is very well lit and organized. The help was very friendly and willing to securely package items for shipping or for slipping into one's suitcase. A good visit.

Lots of lovely goodies in here. I indulged and got gifts for many friends with rather varied tastes. Some of my favorites were the fabric and clay arts. Lots of surprisingly fairly priced and completely original jewelry. I would have loved to take home one of the larger pieces of elegant woodwork.
