Our kayaking base camp is located on the south side of Kachemak Bay in outer Peterson Bay. We have day trips and overnight packages available at this location. The site is off the road system and accessible by our water taxi. We located our business site at our house address in Homer as we could not put our real business location on Trip Advisor map without a street address.

A highlight of our trip!

We went out on the full day tour with Josh and two other couples mid-July. What an amazing day we had! We were lucky it was a 'bluebird day' (as the locals say) and the water was like glass - so calm. The day started with a quick boat trip over to the kayak base, and we got to see... More

This is our ever first kayaking. Courtney the guide was excellent. She took us to see so many sea animals, Charlie the Otter was so cute. The sunflower sea star will live in my memory! She took us to hike up to view the beautiful bay, telling us the names of all kinds of plants and animals. We wish we... More

I'll start by saying that our guide, Kim, was excellent. She gave us all the information we needed to get in, out, and around in the kayaks. Unfortunately for us the weather turned and the wind picked up which limited what we were able to do. Kim still made a day of it for us, with a nice hike up... More

My wife and two adult daughters took the half-day kayak tour last week. There were about 11 of us that met at the dock in Homer. From there we took a boat taxi out to Scott's base camp and met Bubba the Harbor Seal. This seal pulls up on one of their docks and just hangs out. Scott and his... More

Our family of four did the full day kayak trip. It was just the four of us and our guide Josh. Other people on the boat did the half day trip. We had so much fun, especaily seeing the sea otters, seals and bald eagles. It is awesome having such a beautiful place mostly to yourself. At lunch time we... More

We did the half-day sea kayak tour with our two small children and it was perfect. On the boat ride out, we saw whales, which were amazing. We did tandem kayaks (one parent/one child), and our guide was perfect - he knew exactly how to keep our children engaged while also showing them the fascinating scenery and animal life (e.g.,... Love the owners who are so friendly and welcoming! Had a guide with his master's degree in marine science and was a wealth of knowledge of the area both in terms of science and history. Bring your own lunch and snacks. No bathrooms either--you'll have to use a tree in the woods!

Outstanding in every way, We had two guides with our group of eight, both were terrific and clearly loved what they were doing. It was the first time kayaking for half the group, and after the wonderful experience, we would absolutely go again. I highly recommend this company. The guides gave clear instructions and safety demonstrations, so that even as... More

It is a must to go kayaking around Homer and St Augustine's Kayak and Tour company is a perfect choice to do it with. St Augustine's Kayak company was wonderful and very accommodating. They have a lot of options to meet all abilities and interests. It was well worth it for your first time to get the lay of the... More

What a fun excursion. We left the harbor at 9 with Scott the captain, Trayvin, our guide and another couple who did the tour with us. We left the dock in our kayaks at 10. It was too windy and rough to go to gull island so we stopped on a different one to explore the tide pools, hike, and... More
