About St. Augustine's Sea Kayak And Day Tours
Our kayaking base camp is located on Kachemak Bay on the outside of Halibut Cove. We have day trips and overnight packages available at this location. The site is off the road system and accessible by our water taxi. We located our business site at our house address in Homer as we could not put our real business location on Trip Advisor map without a street address.

Even though the weather wasn't the best, we had a great time seeing the sea animals and the gorgeous scenery. Our guide, Kelly, was very knowledgeable and personable.

So fun! Saw 2 whales, 3 Sea otters and even 2 Eagle, one Eagle had a Salmon in it Talons! It’s was a beautiful kayak trip that followed the coast. We had excellent weather as well! Kelly and Ambz were very informative and kept an eye out for everyone’s safety. We took a water taxi to and from their “base camp” ( taxi was included) the whole thing took about 4 hours total

Very unprofessional and rude! My wife and 3 dogs booked a water taxi to Kachemak Bay, and the experience was terrible. On the way there, we had to jump over 3 boats until we could make it to the boat that was going to take us there. The captain of the boat was riding awfully fast in choppy conditions and, at some point, hit a wave that sent the dogs and us flying. On the way back, the experience was even worse. They were 30 mins late for pick up, and their boat had a bunch of leftover food and trash on the floor that my dogs were trying to eat. The interior was packed with people, and the person driving the boat screamed at us and made us sit outside on top of all the kayaks that were untied and unsafe. When we returned to Homer, my whole family was soaked (see the pictures). I called to request a refund, and the 13-year-old answering the phone was extremely rude and said we left the dog poop bags in the boat and that because of it, we would not get a refund. I do not recommend this company at all, especially if you’re traveling with your dogs, because they do not care about your well-being or the dogs.

Hello Alejandro, I’m so sorry that your experience with us was not good! I’m the owner and was your water taxi captain on your return trip from Kachemak Bay State Park. I’m compelled to share with you my preceptive of what took place on the return water taxi ride with us. You are factual when you state that we were late for your water taxi pick up, the reason being was because of the weather conditions on Kachemak Bay, upon my arrival I explained to everyone that the weather had slowed us down and apologized I asked you, your wife and your three dogs to board the water taxi and find a seat in the cabin with the other passengers while I loaded the remaining kayaks, after loading the kayaks I entered the cabin one dog was on the floor, your two other dogs were sitting on the bench seat preventing the other passengers to have a seat. Your dogs are not small, I immediately said the seats are for humans and the dogs need to be on the floor, your dogs did not want to get off the seats, when one dog did, a dog fight instantly broke out with the dog that was on the floor. At that point for the safety and wellbeing of the other passengers I said the dogs must be outside. There was not a lot of room with the kayaks on deck, but that was only for a short period of time because as you know we off loaded the kayaks at our nearby base camp. You did get wet, I’m so sorry! I do care about all our clients! that is why I requested the other clients to squeeze together so that we could try again to have you and your dogs be in the cabin. You, your wife, three dogs were in the cabin for the remaining water taxi ride, which was the bulk of the distance. Again, I'm sorry you wet, but please consider the other passengers. I must mention that you left two bags of dog poop on my boat, as a trail user I appreciate that you “scoop poop” I suggest that you follow through with the process and depose of bags of your dog poop in the appropriate location. We are a family run business, and care about your clients! We care about all animals, we have two dogs and a cat, and one of your dogs is a rescue dog. Again, we apologize for your experience, and hope the rest of your trip in Alaska goes well.
