We booked the Classic trip and had an excellent experience with Alaska Bear Adventures! Our pilot/guide Ben was amazing: very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We were supposed to land at Katmai where there was bear activity but were unable to do so because of because of bad weather. Instead we landed on the beach at Lake Clark. Ben took us on an interesting, enjoyable hike, with plenty of evidence of bears having used the same trails. Unfortunately we did not find any bears. On our return , we were very pleasantly surprised when told that our tickets would be fully refunded. This was done the same night. It was very gracious of them and I would highly recommend this outfit!

Wow!!! Talk about an exhilerating adventure, what an amazing day! This was #1 on my bucket list for my Alaskan vacation and it did not disappoint. The day was rainy, and foggy in Homer but it didn't take anything away from the experience. The flight to our first stop took approximately an hour and the scenery was stunning; glaciers, mountains, valleys, lakes, wildlife. When it came time to land, I was shocked to find out we were landing on a beach! Seriously, I pictured the scene in Harrison Ford's Six Days Seven Nights but our pilot handled it like a champ. That stop there were bears but at too great a distance away so we jumped back in the plane to another destination. That was the honey pot!! As soon as we were out of the plane and walked a very short distance, we came upon a mama bear and her cub. The pilots, who double as bear guides, knew exactly what to do to get us close enough for amazing pictures yet far enough away to be safe and not to disturb the bears. While I checked this off my bucket list, it actually just wetted my appetite to go on another picture taking adventure. The staff of Alaskan Bear Adventures could not be nicer, more knowledgable, or more accommodating. The trip took us to the third least visited National Park, Katmia, where, except for a few homesteads that were grandfathered-in when it became a park, you see nature completely undisturbed. A truly unforgettable adventure.

We did two trips with Alaska Bear Adventure Brook falls and Premium Brook Fall was very nice BUT the Katmai Premium Trip was out of this world. Our pilot Adam not only took us to magic places along the shore but also to the top of vulcanic mountain with crater lakes and glaciers. An unfortunate day. Highly recommended! Thanks again to Adam!!!

These are the people you want to take you to see the bears. You may have read here about the 90-year-old making the trip with Alaska Bear Adventures to brooks Falls, and that was my mama. Alaska Bear Adventures and K-Bay Air made her bucket-list trip of a lifetime possible, with patience, professionalism, attentiveness to safety and comfort, much knowledge, and cheer. My sister with disabilities was with us also, and Alaska Bear Adventures made it all happen for our trio. They even surprised my mother with a birthday party at the conclusion of our amazing adventure. It's pretty difficult to upstage the awesomeness of an Alaskan brown bear, but the kindness shown by the folks at Alaska Bear Adventures will be remembered just as keenly.

Had a fantastic experience! To be able to land on a beach, walk up to coastal grizzlies and just hang out for the afternoon was one of the top 10 things we have ever done. Adam and Dean were the perfect pilots and guides. We felt safe, learned a lot, and had so many laughs (ordering my inflatable beer now). Highly recommend ABA and their team!
