About
Port Chilkoot Distillery produces five local spirits, all handcrafted in the Southeast Alaskan town of Haines, at the upper end of the Inside Passage where the ocean meets the mountains. The distillery began in 2012 when owners Heather and Sean renovated an old bakery in a historical area of Haines called Fort William H. Seward. All spirits are thoughtfully made with high-quality ingredients including certified organic and non-GMO verified corn grown in Washington, featuring labels that represent the maritime culture and fishing town where we live and operate. Visitors from around the world journey to Southeast Alaska in search of unique, local experiences and find our distillery nestled in the historical town of Haines. They experience the craft of making and enjoying local products at our custom-built destination distillery, located conveniently above the cruise ship dock.

After our Fishing Charter with Haines Family Fishing Charters we stopped in here on their recommendation. Definite WIN! Amazing cocktails to try, a ton of cool T Shirts, Tanks Hats, etc, to bring home a souvenir of the days adventure. A quick stop in before you had back on the Haines Ferry which you can watch pull up on their patio and get there in plenty of time.

What an excellent little gem in Haines! We were visiting Whitehorse for the 2022 Yukon River Quest and decided that we couldn't be that close and NOT see Alaska. We spent two days in Haines camping at Chilkat Sate Park and exploring around town.

My wife had slipped earlier in the day and the bartenders made her a drink called a pain killer that definitely did the job! We enjoyed a bunch of different cocktails in the tasting room and loved them all!

Not only do they distill all their own liquor but the drinks were all garnished with locally grown items and house made syrups! Topnotch and well worth a visit!

We kinda stumbled on this place as we were walking around. Amazing. As good as you will find anywhere. They make everything- the alcohols, the bitters, the syrups. My wife and I each had a couple different cocktails and we bought gin and bourbon to take home. Had to even buy some swag. Make the time to visit if in Haines

Nothing like sitting out on the porch having a delicious gin and tonic, all of which was made there. Yummy!

Husband and I came here prior to having dinner at the Fireweed across the street. The gal working at the counter was great! She explained the various drinks on the board and also the specials she was making that day. Delicious drinks, be sure to stop they open at 2 pm till 8 pm.

We spent several days in Haines during our travels in Alaska. We discovered Chilkoot Distillery and it quickly became part of our daily routine. The gin is excellent, it reminded me of Plymouth Gin, but what was really memorable was the tasting room where you could sit outside, sip your drinks, and take in the wonderful scenery. We also quickly discovered it was a great spot to meet many of the welcoming local residents. It is a must stop whether you are independent traveling, docking your boat for a few nights in Haines or on a stop from one of the cruise ships. Stop by sip and take a bottle home.

The distillery offers quality spirits and service with a smile. The place has a comfortably cozy area inside to enjoy cocktails, while the view from the porch and alley is hard to beat. The unique and locally-infused cocktail recipes are exciting and tastefully prepared with fresh ingredients that truly allow patrons to really drink in Haines.

My wife and I stopped here twice during our 3 day stay in Haines. They had very good liquor and it was a fun place to grab a couple of drinks. The absinthe was probably my favorite. Only wish I could purchase it at home.

We stopped into this small distillery and tasting bar about 5 pm and it was getting crowded with local Haines residents - they all seemed to know each other and the bartender - very friendly, warm vibe. We started with a sampler of gin, vodka and moonshine. The gin was the clear standout. They use spruce tips as well as tangerine peels, juniper berries, and other stuff, to make a really distinctive, tasty gin.
They have a lineup of fairly priced cocktails that feature their spirits - I went with the Bees Knees, which was delicious, if a bit to sweet for my taste - I think it was $7. The sampler was $12, and I bought a fifth of their gin to bring home for $39 IIRC. A great stop and a great gin. They have just opened a keg of bourbon that is two years old. Young for my taste, but I bet in a few years it will be something special.

If you're in Haines, don't miss this stop! Great drinks, and a great gift shop too. It's small, so we had our drinks outside (luckily it wasn't raining!) They have pretty limited hours, so be mindful of that.
