Flew with Drake today, just him and I, What an experience! Flew over Glacier bay and landed twice and walked around on the glaciers at the tops of the mts. where there was 10’ of snow. Drake was very knowledgeable about the area and what goes on. I loved it and took a lot of pictures to cherish the memories. We had a blast!

My husband and I flew with Drake last week. We contacted him when our cruise ship arrived in Skagway. We were flexible and he was accommodating to our schedule. Our safety was his #1 priority. Drake's knowledge of the area and the wildlife made it a day to remember. We saw moose, bear, bald eagles, dall sheep, hundreds of seals and even a bear that climbed up a tree as a result of a moose protecting its calf. Viewing the glaciers from the sky was amazing and Drake made it a day we will talk about for a long time to come. Drake's energy and style is infectious! My husband pre-arranged for Drake to renew our vows for our 25th wedding anniversary during our beach landing...what a surprise! If you visit Skagway or Haines, it's worth it to contact Drake and truly enjoy the experience of a lifetime. Flying with Drake was by far the highlight of our 12-day trip to Alaska.

Two words to live by...FLY DRAKE!!!!!!!!

Our family flew with Drake out of Skagway on May 29, 2012 (two separate flights to accommodate all of us) over the east arm of Glacier Bay. The views were phenomenal - glaciers, fiords, mountains - everywhere you looked, plus we were very lucky and saw bald eagles, bears, moose and mountain goats (mostly due to Drake's knowledge of the area and his extra efforts for us to see them). Drake was extremely knowledgeable about the glaciers and area and answered all of our questions. We also made a remote landing near a fiord which was great - definitely made you feel a part of the wilderness - so make sure you add that to your trip! If you want a professional pilot with a laid back personality, Fly Drake!

Our group of 4 had the opportunity to fly with Drake Olson on Fri. June 29th on a scenic route from Haines to Skagway. We had the fun of seeing him on an installment on TV of Alaska Wingmen this past winter and were quite intrigued by his down to earth, no bull personality! True to his word Drake was ready to take off at our appointed time. He explained all the safety stuff and off we went. He flew us into many mystical mountain passes and over beautiful glaciers. The scenery we saw will be imbedded in our memories forever. The snowy mountaintops were amazing. We saw mountain goats grazing on a mountainside. The take off and landing were smooth as silk. We loved Drake. His love of flying and nature meld together so naturally, and it shows. We had heard that Drake was the best pilot in Haines and Skagway and we believe they were 100% right about that! Thanks, Drake, for a fabulous flight and all the best to you!

I flew with Drake last week from Skagway for a tour of Glacier Bay. Safety is his highest priority and he wants each guest to have a memorable experience. Drake delivered on all levels and this trip was phenomenal. Rather than flying a routine pre-set route, Drake gave us an individualized, unique flight trip. The man is a wealth of knowledge and he is personable and funny. Don't be surprised when he starts playing Jimmie Hendrix during your adventure! Save all that money you normally spend on cheap souvenirs and book a flight with Drake. You will take home priceless memories. My friends are in awe when I show them the photos I took during the trip.

My wife and I took her son on a cruise for graduation and we researched tours separate from the ship and found Drake. After calling to schedule the tour with him he told us he would call the day we arrived in Skagway to insure the weather, equipment and everyone was up to flying that day before he talked about payment. True to his word he called at 7:30am and said everything was a go. We arrived at the airport in time to see him land with the previous tour and got some fantastic photos. He quickly gave us a safety run down and it was off into the air. We quickly climbed to about 5000 feet and proceeded into the passes in the mountains still covered with snow. All the while taking picture after picture and seeing sheep and other magnificent wildlife. Flying over the glaciers fabulous and unforgettable even in a brief snow storm the ride was still very smooth. After passing through a narrow pass at 6000 feet the skies cleared and the fjords came into a stunning view. He flew down Davidson Glacier and then informed us he was going take us in for a landing at Glacier Point. We all looked for where that could be and out of no where the small runway came into view the landing was smooth and phenomenal. Walking around the tundra we spotted a bald eagle that our son walked closer to get a great picture. Wild strawberries were everywhere and not a bad picture could be taken. We reboarded and after a little warm up it was a smooth take off for return to Skagway. And our final landing was smooth and after taking pictures with Drake we exchanged information and he even called the bus to transport us back to our ship. Just before boarding we watched as Drake took off to return home and all we could do is smile and wave and dream of returning again soon to DO IT AGAIN!!!!!!

Drake flew my wife and I in his Cessna yesterday, and I must say it was a fabulous experience that I would recommend to everyone - don't miss this. The contrasts between the glaciers and the braided rivers against a back ground of snow covered peaks were spectacular. The colours were brilliant in the lat afternoon. As well as some outstanding flying over the glacier valleys and across the ridges and mountain peaks Drake was giving a great commentary about what we were seeing. We are from Australia, and this scenery is so very different from that we experience at home.
I have flown all over the world and found this a great and unique experience. My wife had never flown in a light aircraft and she approached the flight with some trepidation, however Drake was so professional and relaxed that she felt very safe and thoroughly enjoyed herself. Thanks Drake

Me and my buddy Tyler had drake fly us to Glacier Bay to basecamp for 10 days.He acted as more than just our pilot, but as our support for the entire trip.
After the first day out our stove broke and we only had about 5 days back up fuel with a storm moving in,we called drake to let him know we need a new stove. He got us that and more and was out to us the 2 days later as soon as it was somewhat clear.
Aside from Drake's flying skills and experience he really came through for us,our communication was easy and we worked through everything that came up,in this regard i cannot recommend FlyDrake highly enough for this sort of expedition as he will do everything in his power to look after you during your trip.

We, my husband, adult son, and myself, flew with Drake on "Good Friday" and it was one of the best Fridays we've ever had. Drake picked us up in Skagway and headed straight up into the mountains. It was a spectacular, mind-blowing, and exhilarating experience. The views were so extraordinary and then we dropped down into feather soft snow atop a glacier. Drake was so skillful we didn't even realize we were descending until we touched down. We're experienced flying in small planes and Drake handles his plane with skill and aplomb while pointing out the glacial features and names of the peaks and ranges you're seeing. If you've watched the Nat Geo feature "Alaska Wing Men," meeting Drake in person does not disappoint, nor does the experience he offers.
