We were booked for a flight to the coast but weather put an end to that. However Drake made up for it by taking us on a flight to Glacier Bay and over some of the glaciers near Haines. We also landed for a short stroll and poke around at Glacier Point. Drake was a knowledgeable and experienced pilot in whose hands we felt very safe. On several occasions he manoeuvred the plane for us to better see the scenery and to take photos. His cost was very reasonable and, in fact, he reduced his charge from the original quote because of the change in plans. This was the trip of a lifetime with excellent views of many glaciers. If I were in the area I wouldn't hesitate to take a flight with Drake again and I recommend him without reservation.

Where to start. Emotions, views, walking on a glacier, flying with a pilot that goes above and beyond what the brochure offers. I had to remind myself to breathe, now I fully understand the word breathtaking. My sweetheart uses the the term sensory overload to describe his emotions about Alaska. It is a term that describes my emotions during this tour. Drake is a fantastic pilot and tour guide. He makes it an adventure and that is what Alaska is all about. Thank you Drake for a trip I will never forget. Carol Webb Shell Knob, MO

Drake is a pro bush pilot whose expertise is apparent from his numerous appearances on TV (check YouTube!). His passion for his "office", which is the indescribably beautiful amalgam of snow, ice, glaciers and unspoiled mountains surrounding Tracy Arm, accessible from Skagway and from Haines, is evident in everything he does. Upon takeoff from Skagway's airstrip a short walk from the cruise port, we were immediately transported into a magical and surreal world. The only one talking was Drake whose "How gorgeous is this?" interrupted a mix of Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead and a few artists from our generation who felt timed to emphasize the beauty of this terrain at every turn. We four (my husband and our two dearest friends) were completely awestruck and incapable of more than an occasional "Wow!" as the scenery in front of us unfolded. Drake's continual expression of how spectacular a day we had as he provided insightful commentary into the perspective, history, geography and science that form this remote region, inaccessible in the absence of wings, left us all with naught to do but take it all in and take non-stop photos, which were perfect thanks to the care this seasoned pilot takes with his aircraft's windows (scratches on flightseeing trips result in ruined photos!) Drake swung us around to show us the slopes he and his fellow extreme-skiers love for a challenge (and God bless anyone with the intestinal fortitude to ski that vertical drop!), accessible only by plane as is so much of this amazing region. He even did a fly-by to check on campers he had deposited in a snow-white valley (OMG I wish I was young enough to try that some day!). The landing on a remote island amidst 360 degrees of blue snow-capped mountains made me want to break out in a chorus of "America the Beautiful", and gave us a chance to catch our breath, so stunning was this tour. In 25 years of travel on 4 continents, I have never experienced anything like this tour, and while Drake certainly had some help with the area in which he plies his trade, it was his expertise and apparent passion along with his brilliant commentary that made this the most memorable vacation experience in my life! This is NOT your average commercial tourist-factory shore excursion! If you are looking for a bespoke, immersive view of Alaska, and you have only one tour to take, Fly Drake, because everything else you do will not compare to this experience!
