Took the different trails at the battery point trailhead. Riley point has a nice beach stop, keglaya point is a nice rest stop with beautiful views. Battery point is a little bit further out from the two and has beautiful views. The hike for the above 3 points is pretty standard and easy. The mt riley trail was tougher with narrow slopes and more draining. The points have great views and is a nice exercise with family. Worth a visit for the views.

Very neat hike through the forest that pops out to a couple of fabulous viewpoints on the Lynn Canal. As I was hiking I could hear what I thought was "whale sounds" and, sure enough, when I made a turn and came out of the forest onto the shore there was a pod of orcas. These are residents, meaning they remain in the broad area year round, so there is always a chance to see them. Even without them, the views are fantastic, making this a fun, enjoyable hike.

We spotted an eagle in a tree. So close we have amazing photos. The eagle just sat there without a care. Not worried about us taking many photos. The hike is in a rain forest setting and we found it nice and easy.

What a treasure! We rented a car in Haines from the Captain's Choice hotel, and drove our family here. This hiking trail is well-maintained and exceptionally beautiful. There's a lovely roll to the land here. Due to time constraints, we didn't do the entire length of the trail, but we were very happy we took the time to visit and experience what we had time to enjoy. Happy family memories made here! We hope to come to Haines again, and if we do, we certainly will plan to return to experience all of this trail.

This is a fairly easy, graveled path, about a mile, that leads to a beach with a beautiful view of the Upper Lynn Canal.
