Wrangell St. Elias is too large to visit by hiking and has very few roads. By far the best way to visit is a flight seeing tour. We did the one hour flight and definitely got our money's worth. We saw tall mountains, huge glaciers, and several mud volcanoes. The landscape in Alaska is vast and viewing from the air... More

Such a great flight seeing trip with Copper Valley Air! There are very limited roads into Wrangell St Elias NP, so the best way to see the amazing sights of the park are by plane. The pilot was very knowledgable and we had a very smooth flight. Each passenger had a window seat and a headset to hear the pilot... More

Hi Folks. There are only 2 roads into the 11,000,000 acre Wrangell St Elias National Park. Therefore, from, the ground, you don't see anything. So we went to the Gulkana Airport in Glennallen and chartered Alex the senior pilot. This guy flew 727s and 737s for Braniff Airways and Southern (CIA) Airways and has a million stories. But I digress.... More

We ended up having great weather for our flight. In calling ahead of time, the pilot told us to either come very early or in the evening for the smoothest air. We went at 6:00. It was a bit bumpy but not too bad (my son did get airsick but he is very susceptible to it. The pilot had airsickness... More

Took a flight to get up close to some of the peaks and glaciers in the Wrangle St. Elias National Park. Pilot was a rugged witty type personality. He has flown all over the world and had some great stories. Felt like we were in good hands. Multiple flight options to meet your needs and many different planes depending on... More

it was ok, we had to bring back fish for the owner of the boat, so it weighed down the boat. The jet portion of our trip was slower.

This was one of the best things we did on our trip. The flight seeing of Wrangell St Elias park was incredible. Do not miss this experience. Our pilot was experienced and knowledgeable. The sights were breathtaking and we would never have been able to appreciate the park without this experience.

We tried on three occasions last year to take this flightseeing trip into Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, but they were unable to fly any of the three times – rain, high winds, and the pilot sick. This year we had a little extra time at the end of our trip and decided to just "drop in," (having called the night... More
