What an amazing adventure! The owners were so kind and helpful making sure we were all geared up. We started off, great instruction from the guides and Stuart, our guide, lead us on an epic day of riding while taking in the gorgeous views. Stuart was so fun! Silly, great with our teens...even made them smile... a lot. Small miracles. He was knowledgeable and genuinely wanted us to have a good time. We felt safe and well taken care of. If you don’t take the time and spend the day with Glacier City Snowmobile tours you are really missing out. They do not disappoint! Thanks Stuart!! We will remember this day forever.

This was a great experience from start to finish. This was my first time on a snow mobile, but super tour guide Sadie taught us the basics and kept checking in. It's a great experience. They keep the groups small, and we had a nice 14 mile ride to the glacier. You quickly get used to handling the machine and by the time we were on our way back felt very comfortable. If you are looking for this type of experience, select Glacier City Snowmobile Tours. Great value for the price and they supply you with the outerwear you need. Bonus is that we picked a great day to go! Thank you.

We went on a fabulous glacier, snowmobile tour yesterday with this company in Girdwood. They were very well organized, outfitted us with gear to keep us warm in the cold and windy temperatures, offered warm tea and sweets for a snack, and were very knowledgeable about the area. I 'd recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get to see a glacier up close, crawl on icebergs on the frozen lake, and enjoy riding a snowmobile. In spite of the 17 degree temps with cold winds, I was warm and comfortable thanks to their careful attention to how we were dressed for the weather. Spencer Glacier with its icebound icebergs were picture perfect! And a big thank you to our wonderful guide, Sadie! You were awesome!!! Sue L. & friend Kay

My wife and I did the "Real Deal Tour" which was supposed to be 26 miles. We paid $500 for two snowmachines.
When we arrived, it was snowing pretty badly outside but we assumed that since the tour is still on, we will be fine.
We started the tour after getting ready and driving to the starting location. It was snowing exactly the same as it did when we arrived to their shop.
About 1 hour into the tour and after we only passed 1 mile, the instructor decided to call it off and head back. I must say that it was the right decision.

When we got back, we didn't even get a partial refund, or at least to pay the price for the shorter tour. I completely agree that their time costs money, but that just felt like greed...
They know how bad the weather was before we left and didn't have the integrity to call it off before we paid or even give us a partial refund...

I'm just thinking about the family of 5 that was there and paid over a $1000 for 1 mile of snow machine tour...

Thanks for expressing your concern - we did in fact spend about 4 hours total out there and did our best to compete with the weather. We did in fact offer to have you come another day and would still hold to that if you are able to go another day please let us know. Weather can be challenging in Alaska and sometimes deals us a hard hand and we do our best to safely get people out. Justin

My husband and I had mixed up the times for our tour but luckily thought we had left a a half hour early. Glacier City called us when we were about 20 minutes away and kindly waited for us (also thank you to everyone else on the tour!!) We had the absolute best time. The glaciers were breathtaking and the ride was beautiful in itself. It truly was one of the biggest highlights from our vacation.

The Real Deal snow mobile tour was out of this world. We didn't bring any gear since we traveled from out of town but not to worry everything was provided at no additional cost. We took a van to the start point which was a 15 to 20 min ride. Once we arrived Stewart the tour guide gave us a block of instructions on how to operate the snow mobile along with some safety precautions. The ride out was amazing the views were spectacular. We would stop periodically to take a break to ensure everyone was OK and take pictures. Once we got to the glaciers it was breath taking. We got up close and personal to the glaciers and then rode over to the ice cave where you can take pictures and just take in the view. Before heading back the tour guides provided some snacks and hot cider. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and experienced. Connie arranged everything, she was a darling. This is a must do when in Anchorage. Definitely recommend, it was worth every dollar!!!!

We took the Real Deal tour in late February 2020. The weather was great but the trail was not cooperating to cross the river in several places. Our guide, Brandon, along with Jeremy took the time to scout out an alternate way for us to get to the glacier and experience the majestic scenery it provided. They even brought hot cider for us to enjoy at the glacier. The staff at the office made sure we were outfitted with all the gear we would need and ran the entire operation with an easy precision. They gave us a quick but thorough "How to" and then checked on us to make sure we all were comfortable in our gear and with the snow mobiles. This is an adventurous guided tour with opportunity for the adrenaline junky to let loose too. We would take it again and again and is worth every penny. If you have taken any tour before you know the guides make the difference, Brandon and Jeremy are awesome guides and ensure a safe but fun tour.

Great 5 1/2 hour tour to the glacier with Brandon as the guide. Went through icebergs and up to them. Snowmobiled on meadows, frozen river and lakes up to the glacier. Great guide and company does all it can for all to have an enjoyable time. Recommend their service. Enjoyed the trip immensely.

This was probably our most favorite tour on our trip! You snow machine for about 30 miles, 15 there and 15 back. You go out to Spencer glacier and explore the ice caves. The guides are so nice and friendly and teach you how to ride the machines. I had never been snow machining before and they made it super easy and made you feel very comfortable. They provide you with helmets and warm gear if they don’t think you have enough on. The guide stops and checks on you throughout to make sure everyone stays together. And switches up the group if he thinks people are falling behind in the back. Once at the glacier you walk around for about 30 minutes and then they have hot tea and snack for you that you can eat. You stop a few times along the way to get some great pictures and look at the glaciers. Then on the way back once you hit an open flat field he let us open it up a little and have fun. Go as fast as we wanted and play around a little bit. It was very calm and freeing. I got SUPER hot and ended up taking off my gator and gloves and even unzipped my jacket. You use your thumb a lot so your hand gets a little tired. There are hand warmers on the handles if you get cold too. The next day my shoulders were a little bit sore but that’s about it! Amazing experience!

My family of four loved this tour near the Aleyska Resort in Girdwood. We met in a small store to make sure we had the correct gear and clothing (they provided what you didn't have) and then took us to the starting point. After a brief safety talk and instruction on how to use the equipment they divide you to even groups for the day. It was a beautiful day, weren't cold at all and went all the way to the glacier and back. Once there they take you around, on top and let you roam a bit and give you some warm drinks and candy as a snack before the trip back. It's about a 4 hour day and well worth every penny. Be careful on the mobiles, my son crashed in heavy powder and had to pay for the plastic windshield that broke off, so there is no rental insurance when you book, fyi. Would definitely return again with a different group and maybe take another route.
