We opted for the Glacial Salmon Bake. Our guides, John, Alex and Roe were awesome. They are all Alaskans and easily conversant on the neighboring ecosystem as well as local birds, flora and fauna. The adventure started by rafting out to Spencer Glacier. As you raft towards the glacier, John shared the history and current status of the glacier. He also provided us with insight on how glaciers are formed as well as their internal composition. While you do not land on the glacier itself, you do raft in a lake formed by past glacial movement. You raft amongst fairly large pieces of the glacier that have broken off, all with Spencer Glacier as the backdrop. When we return to shore, we were served a wonderful Alaskan Sockeye Salmon dinner. Review of: Glacier Blue Kayak & Grandview Tour
This was one of the best things we did in Alaska. Guides were great, equipment was good. Had a blast kayaking through the icebergs towards the glacier. Finishing the day with a cocktail on the observation deck of the train was a nice ending.

Review of: Glacier Trek & Iceberg Raft/Kayak
Oh MY GOODNESS!!! What an amazing adventure-filled day!! First, let me say Corey was our AMAZING guide!! We started off with a helicopter ride up to the glacier (well---close to the glacier)...and then we hiked to the mouth of the river with the most stunning views of the glacier!! The hike was invigorating and a bit challenging, mainly because of the rocky terrain, but very do-able if you take your time and watch your step. (PS. would not recommend for the very young or the elderly, but great for teenagers to middle-agers). We then hiked over to the other side of the glacier lake where we kayaked around icebergs. Seriously....we kayaked around icebergs--how often does one get to do that??!! After that, we boarded the train that took us to Grandview and back to Portage. Great excursion if you staying in the Girdwood area! Such an amazing fun day that will forever be one of our favorite family memories!!…

Review of: Glacier Blue Kayak & Grandview Tour
We had an amazing day kayaking on the lake next to the glacier and riding the train up to Grandview. Great combination of sports, fun, education, entertainment while kayaking and a gentle train ride through some of the most amazing scenery. Really good food for lunch including veggie and gluten free options. The best part, though, where the guides. Super nice & knowledgeable. They made it feel like we were out there with a group of friends. Well done!…
