We took a flight by helicopter from the Girdwood airport to Punchbowl glacier. On top of the glacier we were greeted by around 50 husky dogs and trainers. We got to ride on a sled pulled by the dogs about a 2 mile loop around the glacier. The weather was windy and rainy but the adventure was still amazing. After... More

We had only heard great things about doing a glacier landing and we were not disappointed! On the way there we traveled through many valleys while the pilot pointed out the various glaciers and other landmarks along the way. They also kept their eyes peeled for wildlife and we spotted bears and moose! Our pilot made a point of getting... More

A definite must-do on your trip to Alaska! Took my son for his 10th birthday and it is a day he will never forget! Marianna, up on the glacier was amazing and made the trip so memorable for my son.

We (me, husband, 2 daughters ages 16 & 12) all agreed this is one of the top 3 experiences we had on our 11 day Alaska adventure. We took the 90 minute Prince William Sound tour on a gorgeous sunny day. Because only 3 guests can fit in each helicopter, we had to take 2 of them. The pilots did... More

In the words of my 11 year old son....it was phenomenal!!! We are so glad we booked this experience...my husband, 3 sons (age 11, 9, 3), and I really enjoyed the entire experience...The helicopter pilots were very professional and the staff was very nice and helpful! We loved that Alpine Air only schedules small groups as it made the experience... More

Great short helicopter ride to snowy glacier. Good views and perspective. Guide explained all about camp and dogs. We rode sled behind champ dogs. Puppies and beautiful handler were delightful. Great experience. Do not miss the Wildlife Conservation Center about 9mi south.

While undoubtedly expensive (roughly $500 per person), this trip was the highlight of our vacation in Alaska and a true once-in-a-lifetime experience for our group of two adults and three teens. The women working at the station at the base of the mountains were very friendly and provided us with boots, snow pants, and shells (you can wear a t-shirt... More

From the start to finish of our sled do experience was awesome. The staff was great and courteous. They supplied us with outer coverings (coats, pants) and shoe covers. Then we headed to the helicopter for the beautiful flight to the glacier. The pilot was great. On the glacier, the staff was wonderful. Very knowledgable and funny! The dogsledding was... More

The trip was a terrific experience! Rob the pilot was a great guide and pointed out wildlife, features and answered hundreds of questions. Landed by the water on the colony glacier. What an experience. Beautiful and awe inspiring. Drank from the stream and saw how long our hands could take the cold. Finished flying more glaciers and prince William sound.... More
