Girdwood/Bird Creek Tour Description

There are no road signs marking the special entrance to this part of the park, most locals don’t even know about this wild scenic area. There is no need travel many miles out of town searching for the same riding experience. Alaska ATV Adventures focuses on the small group experience, providing excellent wildlife viewing and spectacular scenery to accompany a ride specifically tailored to the group. This awesome trail winds through the Northern reaches of the Pacific Coastal Temperate Rainforest about ½ way between Anchorage and Girdwood. The Girdwood/Bird Creek 3-hour tour includes a hike down to spectacular waterfall where salmon come to spawn mid-June through September. During this time there is a very good chance of seeing bears from the overlook and high alpine meadow.

We did an afternoon ride in the Girdwood/Bird Creek area. Neither of my sons had driven them previously, but the guide offered good instructions. He clearly knew what he was doing and we felt comfortable and safe. This experience ended up being a favorite for our sons out of the entire trip. Initially, I wasn't sure what to expect. We... Took the afternoon Bird Creek tour with guides Bob and Caela. Very scenic tour and both were very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend booking with them. They will do everything in their power to make sure you have fun, stay safe, and enjoy your time. They provided valuable information on other local activities and food which was above and beyond.... We had a blast with this group. We did a private 2 hour trip and our guide was great. The riding was bumpy, but fun. He took us to a wonderful spot by the creek where we were able to see the salmon in the water and a beautiful waterfall. Excellent time.

Four of us in our early 50s rode to Bird Creek with two other tourists and our guide. I'm kind of small and was driving myself and I had a bit of experience with motorized vehicles in Florida, but nothing like this trail! It was a wild ride, but so fun and so scenic. The guide was great and spotted... More

I consider myself fairly good at the ATV riding in many places but Alaska was tough. The Girdwood Tour takes you on the back country of a state park. The trail is very rocky and full of ruts and tree roots so it is for an experience rider to say the least. The guide may have overestimated everyone's skills some... More

Visited in June of 2016. We own ATV's at home but never get to ride them in anything remotely like Alaska wilderness so thought we'd give this a try. Boy are we glad we did. The guide was very friendly and courteous. He did a good job with a brief orientation of those who were not ATV familiar as we... More

We wanted to go gold mining but were a little early in the season. Had several communications with McKayla and she was great. Even when we learned the trip minimum hadn't been met she gave us a great alternative. We had a wonderful Alaska adventure. We will call them next time we visit, later in the season.

We tried to book a trip with this company months in advance. I emailed this company two times before I got a response. Since the weather is ever changing in AK in October they stated to get back with them 2 weeks before trip which is completely understandable. They did not return my emails. When we got to town the... Good Morning, I am so sorry that you had this experience while you were here in Alaska. Unfortunately, I do not believe it was our company that you were trying to get in touch with. Our reservation line is a cell phone 907-320-0007 and I carry it with me at all times. I have reviewed all missed calls and all... More

Here's the truth, I didn't want to ride ATVs. My husband really wanted to try it so we went. The guides were great and very helpful. When they found out I didn't even know how to ride a bike, I was given the automatic ATV so I wouldn't have to worry about shifting gears. We did one practice lap and... More

I've taken a dozen of my team out each year we've done an event in Anchorage. I can honestly say that this is a great time especially for those who are from cities and haven't spent time in the great outdoors or in ATV's. This was our 3rd trip and we'll do it again next year. One of my long... More
