About
Reachable by hiking trail or four-wheel vehicle, Rarotonga's only fall is also known as Papua Waterfall, because water from the Papua stream spills down the cliff into a beautiful swimming hole.

It had been raining a lot whilst we were in Rarotonga so we knew there would be water. It was a bit messy walking to the falls but well worth the effort. WARNING: take insect repellent. Mosquitos everywhere

Wear your reef shoes to save mud on your feet or other shoes, as they are working on the area at the moment & if there has been rain can be quite muddy & slippery. $5 per car to drive up the road.

There is currently a water plant being installed in the area, does not effect the beauty of the waterfall just the walk in, but I didn't have an issue with it.

it had rained hard the morning we went to the falls, and the trail was very sloppy. when the sun came out, so did the skeeters. And I had repellent on, but was still victimized. It wassomething tondo, but not a big deal.

Road is closed and a hike on a soggy track with heaps of mozzies. Oh and someone at the entrance is charging $5 a car. Nothing spectacular very average

Great water - clean and freezing cold from the natural spring in the mountain - but rocks in the shallows make it tough. Keep in mind, the sign says NO SWIMMING - ignored by all. Climb the falls and jump - it's deep enough.
