Avarua Historical Walking Tour

1 review
This tour is a unique experience, the only one of it's kind on the island. The tour guide is very passionate about the history of his beloved Rarotonga and the stories behind the buildings and historical sites are very surprising, interesting and unique as well.

It is a very simple but powerful way to meet locals and understand their culture and history.

Clear turquoise shallow water But it is advised to wear beach shoes because of sharp corals and rock fish.

Such a great place for all ages, water is so clear and warm, went out for a snorkel and was accompanied by a very friendly local dog, such a great experience.

Very warm safe water to enjoy. Not lots to look at underwater unless you head out towards the reef more. Lots and lots, and then many more sea cucumbers living on the bottom sucking up the sand. You can enjoy the tour boats playing live music to their guest throughout the day as they pudder along through the lagoon- adds to the tropical feel of being away from at least the American hustle of life.

We have heard a lot of good stories about muri beach but when we went to have a look we found it a bit overrated. The lagoon was really smelly, the water was nice but there was a lot of algea in the water. There are much better beaches on the island

Lovely lagoon, shallow enough to walk across to nearby islands even at high tide. We visited in Feb and the water was beautiful, crystal clear and warm enough to enjoy any time of the day. Not amazing for snorkelling but we still enjoyed a couple of outings with the snorkel on. We will go back!!!
